Okay, I think the step towards 3D was kind of inevitable. I think a good 3D view with a decent interface won't hurt http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

What worries me much more: will the game really be turn-based? At least the official teaser page does say so, but my deepest fear is that the game may become too "real-timish".

Can anybody take away my fear? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you don't believe what says the official site I don't know who you'll believe...

The HOMM5 press release on Nival Interactive's homepage explicitly states a number of times that the game will remain true to the turn-based tradition. It even goes so far as to define for people how exactly "turn-based" games are more about position and strategy, like chess!

and lets not ignore the fact that Nival is Russian, a people well known for their appreciation of chess and strategy.

Whow, I'm flabberghasted by such a smart reply...

The official site says no more than Heroes V will be

quote:
...the sequel to the universally acclaimed turn-based strategy series with a touch of RPG...

which is close to nothing.

All I wanted to ask is if there may be a bit more of information to share on this issue. That's the idea of such a forum, isn't it?

Sorry, didn't want to be rude. The Nival site is pretty clear.
"*A game where players alternate turns with their opponents, as they would during a chess game, allowing the development of deeper adventure and combat strategies and giving more weight to each individual move and action than in real-time strategy."

Don't worry, it's only that I'm in the hell of a mood today and just waited for a reply to storm on... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Indeed, the Nival site leaves no room for my doubts. Only prob that's left: I want the game NOW http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

"real-timish"?? Is it something like Age of Wonders where you set simultaneous turn-based? Anyway, we just have to believe what the producers said. Heroes games MUST be turn-based, otherwise it isn't Heroes games.
