I really do like this sim.

There is nothing, for me at least, that matches the "chess match" of tactics in naval warfare. It is a very cerebral experience, especially compared to the knife fighting atmosphere of my other favorite, IL2. The scalability of difficulty is well done from my perspective too. It allows me to concentrate on the situation at hand, and not worry about the minutiae of running a submarine. (Sorry grognards, but computing torpedo tracks is what I have an XO for).

When sorted this could be the best sim ever.

Be sure.

I'm sure.

And it'l be even better if and when the hardware side of things are upgraded - my laptop, which used to meet the recommended specs of SHIII (therefore replacing a desktop meeting the minimum specs of Silent Hunter III), now meets the minimum specs of SH4 (once again replacing a desktop, only this time it falls below the minimum specs for SH4).

SH4 is what's called a next generation game.
