Is there any potential in the POP game as we know it to have potential as one of those worldwide Multplayer games. Perhaps the city of Babylon could be the set? Of course new characters would be needed. Maybe a war between armies of the two incarnations of the princes? I am not a player of such games, but if POP went multiplayer i wouldnt be able to resist. Thoughts?

It would certainly destroy the franchise. Prince of Persia has always revolved around a single character and relied on dual platforming/fighting. So it shouldn't be connected to the PoP series in anyway.
Also, the concept of the two Princes in the MMORPG would be bad since players would think it's a knock off of EverQuest (with whatever those two characters were...).
But, the concept of a MMORPG set in Persia and maybe a few other Near Eastern states would be great. Historically, it would be a great game inspired by the great heritage of the many civilizations. Also, violence and action would be abundantly present because the Middle East...well is the Middle East. Get to own houses, tour great landmarks of the past that are decrepit nowadays, and overall get to learn the way of life.
But I really don't trust any Western game designers to pull it off correctly. And Ubisoft has no experience with such games. In the end, I think such a game is a long ways away...

Ive always thought that maybe a stealth element would be ok. My little brothers were watching Aladdin King of theives the other day and it made me think of that lol

i could see POP with a 2 player potential, but that much multiplayer??? um... no, i couldn't see that. it just doesn't seem likely at all, i mean, how many different characters could there be? MMORPG is "massive multiplayer"... that would mean more than 2 people playin. that'd be like 100s of 1000s of people playin... and i really don't see anything of the sort happening. it definitely wouldn't be POP anymore. but just 2 player? maybe.

With settings like Pop 3, it would have been sick to have one player playing the Light Prince and another the Dark Prince as a co-op. Other than that though, it would be hard to have it as a mmorpg.

seriously if you have no one to play with except your own ******ed sisters then the idea might just get lost. my friends don't even like pop!http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif
this is my opinion, no one else'shttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif i won't argue if anyone comes in and say 'hey i got 2 lovely brothers who's all non-handicapped; i think multi=players' a great idea!!'http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I agree that a MMORPG set in the ancient mid-east would be awesome. For one thing, there is a great variety of distinct cultures who would be involved. But the game probably wouldn't benefit from any official connection to the Prince of Persia universe, unless they wanted a way to use the Sands as a story/combat device.
And I also agree that Ubi is not the company for the job. As a matter of fact, they DO have experience with a MMO game- URU: Ages Beyond Myst ...and the pathetic management they exhibited in regards to that game conjures words in my mind that would cause the auto-censor to blow up. I will never forgive Ubisoft for the way they screwed over URU, a bungle that has essentially destroyed one of the great game developers of all time (Cyan Worlds).
