Have you checked your Windows Firewall settings ?

1. Try to disable any antivirus software or Windows firewalls to allow the Ubisoft GameLauncher full access.

These are some Online Services Platform Ports:
80, 13000, 13005, 13200-13999
(all TCP) if not using web proxy.

If you are unsure of how ports work, the best course of action may be to contact your router manufacturer, system administrator or ISP for more information. You can also try to bypass the router by plugging directly into the modem to see if the connection error persists.

2. Some anti-virus or firewall programs may prevent the Game Launcher from communicating properly with the service. Please make sure that you have updated any anti-virus or personal firewall software you have installed. Some software may need to be uninstalled from your computer to play the game. Programs known to interfere with the Game Launcher:

ZoneAlarm
NetLimiter
Avira
Komodo
Hamachi
Rogers Online Protection
Ultimate Arena.

3. As a side note, also try to fuly Uninstall and reinstall UBI GameLauncher file, if needed:

To solve this issue, you must manually install the GameLauncher software, which handles the online authentication in the game. Please note that this software MUST be installed to play the game, and cannot be uninstalled or disabled.

First, you will need to uninstall the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" software from the 'Add/Remove Programs' (Windows XP) / 'Programs and Features' (Windows Vista and 7) icon in your computer's control panel. It's possible that the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" software will not be listed if you have already uninstalled it, or the game. If so, you can skip this step.

After uninstalling the software, you will need to manually delete any leftover files in the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher (32-bit versions of Windows) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher (64-bit versions of Windows). Please do not skip this step, it is very important.

Once you have manually deleted the files left in that folder, you can reinstall the GameLauncher software from here, and then you should be able to start the game:

4. You can also give this method a try, but it won't be needed imo. Locate the HOSTS.txt file found under this path, 'C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc'. Open it with any text/notepad, and then delete everything below these two lines of text:

127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

After that save this file, and try playing the game again. Also see what happens, if you DELETE this hosts.txt file ?

problem was in host file
