For example:

I've put contrasting colored dots on a layer to locate a part

I'm thinking of using a similar process to make some parts of a plane join up correctly, when they aren't on the same part of the map- I'll place some neon grean, pink, blue, yellow 1 pixel dots along the edge I want to join, and make a test skin. Then I'll just see where the part I need to make the join lines up, by noting which colored dot it meeets

I've used Nightshifters panelfinder extension tool, a very handy little tool that does the samething TT refers to.

That's about what I do too. It's how I finally figured out the bizarro mapping on the Hellcat cowl flaps.

When I first started to do my own skins, I picked the Brewster...a real can of worms to skin http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I got so frustrated with it that I made this little tool to help me out http://airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#68

I'm currently about half way through updating it to it's next logical level.

Ok a really neat trick...............

Finish your skin save it as a bmp say in photoshop.... OPEN the bmp up again and adjust the contrast and brightness then resave it again http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
