Dissapearing saves

Has anyone had a problem with their saves completely dissapearing? Before I started playing yesterday, the patch was applied. I was able to play no problem. Now however, the save is totally gone. I am fully logged in, have internet connection and all that. I was reasonably far along in the game. This kind of sucks!

i had the same thing happen to me...i dont know what caused this though or if there is anything i can do to fix it. it still has all my achievments but no game....

I have the same problems. After run with a another account in xbox 360, all saves dissapearing.

Hello guys,

We are looking into this issue that you all have reported. I have a few questions for anyone having the problem that should help.

1. Do your save files still display on your hard drive? to find out you can go into System Settings/Memory/Hard Drive/Games. See if you see any Assassins Creed 2 save files listed here.

2. Have you had to recover your gamertag at all on your system or another system since you have started Assassin's Creed 2?

3. At any point when downloading the DLC or game update did you recieve any type of connection or download issues that may have caused a problem?

the same thing happened to me today too. needless to say im pretty ****ed and have been trying to find a down loadable saved game online to pick up where i left off

The same thing just recently happened to me. I got to the final part of the game and collected the last "codex" piece. The next day, my saved game was ERASED!!!! I checked the 360's memory file, and nothing was listed for AC2 anymore. All my gamer achievements for AC2 still remained, though. What happened to my saved game file and is there a solution yet?

Just happened to me on Xbox 360. Finished the main story, was collecting the feathers to clean up the remaining achievements. Turned it on the next day and the save had vanished. Checked the HDD memory and all trace of the game had vanished. Absolutely no way I'm starting another game on it, not knowing if my save will still be there in the morning.

Oh yeah, no I didn't recover my gamertag, or load any other gamertag onto my xbox, and I didn't download any update or DLC.

Just had the same thing happen to me today!!!! I had finished the game and was in the process of collecting feathers. I was in Venice, paused for a few moments and then went back into the game. The sessions for STORY MODE were all blank and my Xbox 360 did not have the game listed under saves. I loved the game and was going to be getting the first DLC and possibly the 2nd one when it comes out. However, I do not want to start all over from the beginning. I opened a ticket with support. I hope they can give me some good news.

I am also facing same issue for desktop...
I just reached last chapter, and nxt day when I logon, i see my profile got vanished...

BTW i have choose to save my profile offline from ubisoft game launcher, so can some1 tell me the path where these profile are being save in my HDD.

Same thing just happened to me on the PC, luckily only still in the early part of the game in Florence, but very veryt annoying.
Yesterday played no problems, today the save is missing. its on my hard drive but not listed from the online storage.

Any update on this, have not had any DC issues, anywayt to recover the saves ?

Just happened to me on 360. I finished the main story last night, but still had many secondary memories & items to finish. Came back tonight and my game save is gone completely - no trace.

The only thing that happened between now and then, was my Gold XBL membership ended and I reverted to Silver. However, my gamertag is the same so that shouldn't have made a difference.

This has now happened to me twice. I was well over half way through the game (I think anyways - I just assassinated a guy at a carnival on a boat with the pistol) and then BOOM, no save file. Anywhere. Now, after managing to not go out and assassinate someone for real, I started a new game. 2 days later: gone. I thought that nothing could get worse about this game than the DRM, but this is absolutely disgusting. My girlfriend spent 2 weeks earning the money to buy me this and now I can't even bring myself to play it, because I'll probably just end up starting all over again with the irritating cut scenes and starting with no weapons. I think the pirates have the right idea. I've never heard them complain about the DRM or save files disappearing.

I have noticed that in the C:\Progam Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\storage\YnJvd25lcjg3\Deleted\4 folder there are 3 files right now (Only one before I started messing with them). It was named 1.2010.04.15.02.49.41.save.deleted

Is this the save file that ACII deleted on me? Is there a chance that this file may be recovered?

I just tried to play ACII after about 2 weeks of pause to try the Bonus content that Ubi sent me as an excuse for their server problems and I lost my save too.

I tried to turn off online storage then turn it on and a save appeared but it's very very old and I'm still in Florence but in my real save I actually finished the game and all the missions.

How can I get my old save back?

The crashing is annoying to all hell too.I see this has been a problem with the xbox for almost 6 months now and you release a title on pc with the same bug. Yes it's now also happened to me - I have the PC retail DVD version. When I tried to play all my saves had gone, and when I tried activating the save online feature instead it brought back a save from March from when i had first started playing.
Other than that I had no problems with the internet connection/DRM/etc, but I really don't want to have to start again from the beginning since I was really careful and had collected everything from each area and I don't have the patience to redo all of that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

has been going on since febuary and you still have no fix, hillarious that you can make the worlds most complicated DRM. But you can't figure out how to save the progess without the risk of it getting deleted.

Agreed. I haven't heard a peep about a fix for this from Ubi yet. If an Admin doesn't provide something USEFUL (don't waste your time saying 'sorry' here) soon, I will demand a refund too. Maybe our local CTV will be interested in this.

I had the same problem for a week now, plus I already sent them a complain to Ubisoft support centre. Got a reply saying that I should reinstall the UbiLauncher, which so happens to make it much more worse as my latest save game disappeared again. Before that I had a completed game.

Well I got one reply, but if they had read more than 1 sentence of my complaint they would have known that the reply I got was useless. I responded to tell them that what they said was useless as I had pointed out in my first message, however I haven't heard back since.

That's the worst and most annoying thing that happened to me in a game I've played in all my life.

It's ridicolous that Ubisoft have erased my saves when I chose the option of saving it on my HDD, so ¿why they erase them? If i choose te option of saving my games on my HDD it's for being sure that I will not have any problems if the server fails or something similar, not for being erased by Ubisoft.

It's the last game I buy from this company, and I've Bought a lot of games from Ubisoft but I won'T be giving the money I earn to that people that don't care about the ones behind the Monitor, the ones who give them money and the ones who make them ritch.

I want my saved games Back I won't be playing another time hours and hours to reach a part of the game when i did that weeks ago. Maybe I Will never Know how this games End but I don't care now since I won't spend more hours in a game when Ubisoft can erase another time my gameplay...it's useless.

So bye bye Ubisoft, it's so sad that i can't get my money back for that thing but this time no DLC will repare that EPIC FAIL from Ubisoft, you will not bribe us this time.

Ubisoft ignored us long enough that people hopefully just started keeping their own backups of their game saves. When people give up pestering Ubisoft, that means it's 'solved' to them. I bought the deluxe edition of AC:BH the day it came out (preordered actually) and I've opened about 7 tickets because multiplayer won't work for me, and they just keep sending me the same automated response saying it's not their problem it's my ISP's problem. I payed extra money for unique multiplayer characters and I still haven't ever played multiplayer.

As a solution to this problem AND the inability to go replay sequences, I took a full backup of my saves at the end of each sequence. But yes, someone has some serious programming disabilities...

Oh wow, I can't believe this just happened to me. How can they not back up the previous save game before wrinting the new one?
It completely disappeared form my hard drive.

We could always try getting the post count of the thread to like 500. Post a link to this thread on any discussion board that has this problem. What company the size of ubisoft is going to fix a bug that only like 20 different people complained about on their forums?
