Faslane is blocked out on Google Earth, but Devonport Dockyard (Plymouth) has some interesting sights. I count eight nuclear boats. And note the frigate entering harbour.

There are also seven nuclear boats at Rosyth, including the four retired Polaris boats.

And if you really want a search, Chatham has HMS/M Ocelot, a retired diesel boat.

Chatham also has a WW2 Destroyer (Cavalier) and a Victorian Sloop (Gannet) There all right next to each other.

I've worked on all 3 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The Plymouth view was too large to be of use - the boats are spread too far apart. Look to the northern end of the dockyard.

Rosyth and Chatham.... well, I'll let people have fun by searching for themselves. Rosyth is on the north side of the Firth of Forth, just to the west of the Forth Rail Bridge. Chatham is in North Kent and it will take a while to locate the boat.

These are some of the Guns from HMS Gannet in Chatham dockyard.
Thought i'd post them as the dockyard came up.
Took a while to locate and still can't find pics of the ships i took.

This is a mussel loading 64lb gun. Notice the rails running front to back in the base, when the gun fires metal fingers coming down clamp on those an acting as a primitive type of disc break.

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd271/Andy3536/64lbside.jpg

5" gun on the sponson.http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd271/Andy3536/5side.jpg

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd271/Andy3536/5front.jpg

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd271/Andy3536/5breach.jpg

My old company (now long bankrupt) had the contract to renovate the guns and creat replica's were none were available.

The 64lb is an origional barrel on a new base, the 5" is all origional.

I had some pics of the Nordenfelts (spelling?) which were made, they are hand cranked machine guns firing a 1" bore shell from 4 barrels.
Can't think where half my pics have gone?

We're not letting Celeon know anything about whats in Faslane until we see the results of his incursions 'across the pond' http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif
Better safe than sorry......... dont want any of those supposed Canadian owned and German built Uber subs, aka supposed ferries, calling in.
They must have a massive loadout, get in mullah everything then submerge! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif.
Ooops, intel leak...... we know what your up to Celeon! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

The Canadian subs are easy to spot: they're the ones with firefighter boats escorting them.

I just had a look at the 2 US bases I know about. New London has a few, but the pictures are ancient history.

Bangor the pictures look more up-to-date, and they have 3.
