Any news about the low FPS issue, especially with explosions and such?
Seems to be a general thing with even the most high-end systems affected. Lowering video settings having little effect.
The ingame lag is really putting me off this game.
(Yes, I have patched and, yes, I have waaaay over the min spec for the game).

4-5 Months of being "PATIENT" got me to the point of doing this!
SO how "PATIENT" do you want me to be? Say give it another 6 months and see if I can play the game I bought almsot a YEAR ago at the end of the six months then!??????

I dunno if you are as patient as I am, but I AM patient and I wait until a Patch comes out that fix this...I have minor problems playing FoW...
I also don“t want to argue with you..but my opinion is my opinion

Well I hate to be a wisedonkey,
But Fow is running quite nice on my system ( Athlon 2600XP, 1gb ram, radeon 9500)
its quite an oldy, but i really only notice serious lag ( the one that you actually notice) during massive explosions ( multiple, about 6 explosions at a time.)
I have to say, that at this moment, there is not a real reason for me to be complaining about FPS, but what kind of system do you run HRarnie?

Care to prove it by posting some screenshots with FRAPS?? Read the other (longer) thread about FPS and you'll see what I'm talking about. You'll also see what kind of computer HRARNIE has http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
ps. what exactly is an acceptable framerate for you, and how many missions have you played?

i would like to, ill try and download fraps.
But still..after seeing what kind of pc HRARNIE uses...there should be some way to play the game reasonably? well, there is no point in arguiing, thats for sure..its just..all the problems people seem to have..i just dont get it..but ok, that could be me :P
<edit>: rate for single explosion 8 fps at moment of explosion, multiple explosions ( katyusha) 5 fps, normal around 20 fps, and i can play it normally..i know it is nothing to be proud of..but i can D-control everything very nice.
p.s., made some pictures, only FPS wont show up in the corner :S

I'm guessing you haven't played any missions with moving armour or moving trains, or any missions that have a lot of stuff going on in them yet?? Then again, as you've seen in the other thread, FoW chugs even when there is very little going on!!
You're right that 20fps is nothing to brag about, but the issue is FoW consistently drops to 5fps and below on computers that should be running the game fine. I suspect you will be seeing some serious slowdowns soon http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I don't wanna sound like a pr*ck but with your graphics card 20 FPS sounds ok because it is a newer game.
But the problem is I am getting the same thing as you but with a much better spec.
This happens if I have it a low settings or max settings and as you can see from the screenshots in the other thread having it on max settings in DX9 actually plays better and gets better FPS and that is NOT right!
Has anybody got Call of Duty 2 here?
If you play the game in the "default" settings it automaticaly puts it in DX9 and it makes the FPS drop and if you put the settings on high to max FPS drops ALOT! BUT put it in DX7 and the FPS shoots up goes goes through the roof and lands on the moon!
With faces of war this just doesn't happen and in that there is something wrong!
With having FOW on max I seem to get between 5-15 FPS more than on medium settings?
As for Mahlangeni getting 8 FPS when ONE thing goes boom how come me and him are getting 'roughly' the same results from totally diffrent graphics cards?
If somebody know the answer by all means tell me because I am confused and think that this is wrong and should be looked at be the Dev team.
:EDIT:
I for-got that on the other thread (link at top) I have wrote out how to place screen shots on this forum so people saying they have MINIMAL/MINOR/NO problems playing Faces of War to prove they are getting a constant FPS which is better than 20 FPS and doesn't drop too much while blowing this up or driving over a few logs. BUT nobody had done this yet and the one person who managed to take a few screen shots didn't actually post them but told us where to find them on PhotoBucket and when I looked about half of them where screen shots of video footage at the begining of the game! So he was obviously struggling to show he was getting a decent frame rate! SO my point is the people who say I HAVE NO PROBLEMS or MINOR problems PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS and post your screen shots with the FPS on them to prove this!!!!!!!
