So after much fuss I was finally able to connect online and find at least a few matches. Unfortunately now I can't join a single one of them. Firewall is disabled, router DMZ is enabled for my machine. I'm running a D-Link router. If anyone has any ideas let me know what other information might be useful.

Ubisoft has abandoned Vegas 2 and the gaming community so you won't get much help here!
You shouldn't have to forward ports or place your computer in DMZ to join .. only to host!
I am running a D-Link router with no problem and I only forward ports when I host a game.
As far as firewall goes, you can go to Security Center .. Windows firewall .. Exceptions Tab, and make sure Vegas 2 is in there and checked.
Not a good idea to place your computer in DMZ and disable firewall!
You leave yourself very vulnerable!
Do you double click on the server you want to join??
Ubisoft didn't give us a "Join" option!
If you are doing this, what message do you get??
