What Do You Think About Venu de Milo's Chances of Getting In?

The only female "turtle" of the TMNT group, Venus de Milo is not shown so far. What do you think of her chances of getting in the Smash-Up game? Would you want to see her in the game?

Just some random thoughts type of thread.

I found this on Wikipedia:
In a 2007 interview[1], director Kevin Munroe elaborated on the instructions Peter Laird gave to him for TMNT. Munroe admitted that among those rules was, "There’s absolutely no mention of Venus de Milo, the female Turtle. You can’t even joke about that with Peter. It’s just one of those things that he hates with a passion." It is unknown if she will ever reappear.

I seriously doubt it.

I am normally for female characters getting in, especially as of late where they have been given the short end of the stick in fighting games (they added no new female characters in Brawl compared to Melee as an example), but realistically I just do not think so and based on all the 'hatred' it might cause especially if certain characters get left out, its just not a good idea.

It's quite clear what Laird thinks of her and I imagine that the same rule that applied to TMNT applies here too.

Admittedly there is a huge gap in my turtles history and one of these days I really have to dig through on what I missed, but from what I've heard about her, its quite easy to come to the conclusion of why.

If she were in the game I really wouldn't care. In fact I'd be bummed she'd be taking the place of some other more interesting character. The chances are pretty low considering that on the ninja turtles website your not even allowed to submit fanart of her.

Personal bias against Venus aside(no offense, girls, but she's an obnoxious character.. and light-blue? Come on, at least give her yellow, pink or white) I kinda would like to see her representing "The Next Mutation" series. I mean, this game should represent a bit of EVERY TMNT incarnation there's ever been. (Perhaps the Japanese Turtle-sentai anime is a bit too much, even though I love anime).

Even if Venus is the sole representative of "The Next Mutation" I don't think she'll make it in.
Peter Laird has a serious vendetta against her. I can see why, she embodies an abomination unlike any other.

But I have a guilty pleasure of wanting to see her on the game. :P Even though I dislike her.
What weapon does she even use?

IF they did someone from next mutation, I'd want it to be Dragon Lord. No one else.

It's too bad that Laird dislikes her so strongly. I liked the idea of a female Turtle. It would have meant that at the end, at least one Turtle doesn't end up all alone and has a life partner.

The way Venus was retconned into the story was done pretty poorly. They should have just given her a separate origin from the other turtles. I can't blame Laird one bit for disliking her.

Anyway, if a female turtle were done correctly, she would have been nearly a foot taller than the guys and had a flat chest. Turtles are not mammals...

Heh, you're right TurtleFreak. XD

Then again, it's antropomorphic turtles, so I guess they could share some traits to humans. And adding ... well, breasts, helps to remind that she's a girl. I agree that she should be taller, though, but not too much.
Anyway, Venus has the slimest chance among any character, but I still kinda hope we get to see her as a super hidden character. I'm not holding my breath over it though.

The only reason I support her, is because I think there should be some female fighters too. So far we've only got April and Karai. What other females has the TMNT lore to offer? Ninjara is the only other female I can think of at the moment.

There was one woman in a chinese battle robe, I'm not sure where she's from, but I think she also belongs to "The Next Mutation".

There's also Asuka from Tournament Fighters... But I don't think they'll include her just for the heck of having more girls.

There's Cheetah April O'neil... wait, that was just an action figure I think. :P

There's the ninja princess from the TMNT3 movie, but I have a hunch Laird despises that movie as well.

There's not much left to choose from, but any of these additions, to me, are welcome.

It's a shame they never developed Angel to fight, cus she quite clearly had a bit of ability as seen in her first episode. Its a shame in general they never developed her story in the series, especially when they spent time doing silly things.

Another female fighter that's viable is Sydney, or Quarry. I personally wouldn't want her cus I was never a big fan of those episodes. I thought her character was interesting, but the story she was put in rates as meh.

Man, there really aren't many females to choose from. Unless we take characters from the Justice Force. But I don't think that's gonna happen.

There's Joi Reynard from the 2k3 cartoon. She's from the Acolytes that were kidnapped alongside the Turtles to train under the Ninja Tribunal. And the Tribunal itself also has a female member that goes by the name of Chikara.

But now I really can't think of any other females anymore.

Me neither. I mean as long as she's far away from the Turtles in the roster. As an independent character, she doesn't look too bad. But when she's beside the original Turtles... something's completely off...

I don't know what big deal is. Why the hell would you think of her in a bad way? There is nothing wrong with her for existing. Fans of TMNT thought she was okay and even some thought she was great. I myself think she is cool. But true as you all have said she has a rare chance of coming back as long as Laird is alive. If you guys think about it she would have been cool in all or the most popular TMNT universes.

Hopefully they make a sequel to Smash Up and add more characters like Slash, Venus, Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Hun, Mondo Gecko, and lots more I didn't list. Don't use everyone to save for a third game, but def more than the 13 (no rabbids) something like 20-23.

Got me thinking, Sonic was in Smash Brothers... could the Turtles ever make an appearance there? They've had a rather lengthly gaming history... though maybe not since they're not originally game chars?
