For some reason I am getting these bizarre graphics issues that completely screw up the game. Here's a few examples:

I also have the strange issue of whenever I quit the game, all my checkpoints are gone the next time I want to continue from where I left off. I've updated to patch 1.4.
My rig:
Core 2 duo 6700
Nvidia GeForce 7900GT Sli
2gig ram
250gigs of free hardware space
This really sucks that I'm having graphics issues with my favorite game on my brand new computer. The game looks superb until the glitches start kicking in. Can anyone help me out here?

could be overheating, driver issues, what patch are you running? try messing around with stuff, iv had my fc do that before when i alt tab.. go back ingame and it looks like that.

For the checkpoints issue, try saving a new profile and go back to that profile to see the gamesaves.
If you have overclocked the 7900GTs try going back to stock.
Are you on Windows XP or Vista? 32 bit or 64 bit?
Video drivers might be the problem here.

I'm having the same problem:

My rig: AMD 3800+, HIS x1950 Pro, Corsair DC 2x512MB RAM, WinXP SP2 32-bit, Catalyst 7.1
The problem doesn't occur when setting graphics to LOW, but when set to MEDIUM, HIGH or VERY HIGH I get these glitches, especially when looking at the sky. For example, in the training level, everything goes smooth until I have to duck-jump (and a few steps further crawl underneath a metal bar) and look at the sky.

This kind of tearing could be a bad video card.
You should be able to run at very high with those machines.

I got the problem fixed. Had to replace Catalyst 7.1 with 6.12.

Fractoman I get similar with my 7800gt if I overclock it too far. The auto overclock done by coolbits is too high for good graphics in FC. If you're not overclocking the GPU then try going to some slightly older drivers, I get least problems with the 84.21 ones, but other people prefer other drivers.

I've been using the latest patch off the Nvidia website and I still have this issue. Other than that I dont overclock my system because I dont need to overclock it. The only thing I can think of is maybe the people who built my computer, CyberPower, might have overclocked the gpu's when they were putting the system together though im not sure why they would do that considering my liquid cooling doesnt go to the gpu's, just the processor.
To tell you the truth, I dont even know how to check the clock speed on my 7900gt's. Do I go to the bios and set it or is there some software I need to download?

How do you do that?

Figured out the checkpoints thing. I hate the way the save game system works in this game. The menu to load is ******ed.
I'm running Win XP on a core 2 duo 6700 so that means 64bit with 2 processors (4 logical i think, but dont quote me on that).

Hi Fractoman,
this could possibly be a heat issue ...
Lavalys' Everest Home Edition 2.20 diagnostic tool should give you all you need to check out if thats the cause of the problem or not ... click on Computer, then Sensor (in left side menu) for temperature readings.

Good luck,
Richie.
