CD or DVD

Does Chessmaster XI for PC require a DVD player? I only have a CD player and not a DVD drive. Can I still use XI or do I need to get a DVD player. The system requirements say you need CD-ROM: 16x CD-ROM or faster, but in other places there are indications a DVD is needed?

It's only on DVD i think
but u can instal it on another pc if u can and copy the directorie C/programmes files/ubisoft/chessmasterXI after patching and copy it on a usb hard drive.
Or install it on lan with another computer.

All the media I've seen have been DVDs of the game, however I suppose you could try buying from the online store...
