Installed FB, then AEP, then PF.
Patched: 303m > 401m > 402m > 403m
Havent't installed 404m yet, so thought I would hold off.
First got the rts.dll error, which I fixed.
I put in the CD (disc2, PF) autorun does nothing. I am able to start Autorun from Start > Run > etc...
Then when I click button to start game, nothing happens.
No errors. Nothing.
Did I patch something out of order?

I know you've heard this before, but you need to test each step in the QMB during the install process.
You have the correct patch sequence. Perhaps you directed one to the wrong directory when unzipping. Apply all the patches again, in the correct sequence. If that was the problem, this will correct that error. If not, you're looking at an uninstall/reinstall.

I may have heard it before, but that doesn't mean that I REMEMBER it! lol
One advantage of using Raid 0 is that things install very fast too! So I'll just try the patches again and if not, re-install. No biggie!
Thanks.

Have you run il2setup?

That was part of the install and I will run it again as I'm reloading it again.

installed FB, tested, okay.
Installed AEP, tested okay.
Now installed PF merged. Doesn't start:
"Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart the application"
Then...
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application."
Tried both discs in drive and got the same error.
Interestingly, I was able to install both FB and AEP with my DVD burner, but for PF I had to use the plain CD-ROM.
Game won't start with disk in either drive. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif
I know I have seen this error, but can't recall the fix.

Actually, the dll problem wasn't the problem.
It was a bad FB disc2 that led to the bad dll, me thinks.
When I did the re-install, I used a different copy of FB and there was no problem. Unfortunately, this isn't an option for some people.
But since I have FB loaded on three PC's I have three copies of FB!
And while I'm on the topic of loading games, yesterday afternoon it took me over an hour and a half to load StarWars Battlefront II on my son's PC. It consists of 4 discs. Two thirds thru the third disc, I get an error and the install crashes. Something about a file not copying. So I start it over, then it happens on the first disc! Now I was beginning to suspect the drive. (All during this entire install my now 9 yr old son was jumping up and down asking "When is it going to be done???") I quickly swapped out the CD rom with a CD-RW drive from my now "old" game rig and the entire thing installed right away no problem. Next, as a test as I dont care for the game, I tried to install it on my new rig. (With a new DVD burner) The entire thing installed in about 10 min... UNTIL... the last disc... when it got stuck!Rather, the PC could not "see" the fourth disc. I had to move the disc to my "regular" CD-ROM to finish the install. (Then of course I uninstalled the entire thing.)
This entire episode has highlighted a problem with a lot of games nowadays... that being... many seem to have problems installing. Many people have had problems with IL2 (including myself).
I don't really know what the answer is. I think it would be worth it for those with broadband connections to be able to download the games off the internet and store them to a hard drive somehow.
