I don't mean to get ahead of ourselves here considering the actual game is still a year away, but I've seen many rationalize that having 6 towns to start is fine because we can get more with expansion packs.
Who's to say we will even get expansions? Don't assume because we got them from 3DO that we will get the same from Nival. I just checked and their closest game to Heroes (Etherlords II), which was released in September of 2003 has not had a single expansion released for it. They've had 4 patches, but that's it.
That said, we're starting with 6 towns, so expect to be stuck with only 6 towns.

Fair enough, but then check out how long does it took nival to get Etherlords II after Etherlords. Year? A little bit more... so expect HoMMVI appear soon, then.

So, Silent Storm had an expansion pack and it bombed in the US.

So what if Etherlords II didn't have a expansion? That doesn't automaticly mean that there will not be one for Heroes V.

I think they should make at least one expansion, similar to Armaggedons Blade in Heroes 3, but preferably with 2 new towns, and a whole bunch of new neutral creatures.
But, it's too early to discuss about expansions, when we don't what will original Heroes 5 bring to us.

True, no one said there would be expansionsâ€"ťbut no one said there wouldn’t be, either. Even if they don’t have any planned now, if we talk about it enough and ask for one enough they might do it. But I do agree we should wait for the actual game to come out before we get into it too much.
