So, modern musicians are taking a hand at covering John Lennon's songs. The only one I've heard is Green Day's cover of Working Class Hero, and to be painfully honest, it's pitiful compared to the original.
Thoughts?

Green Day + John Lennon songs = Major krapp.
Nobody will ever be able to cover a Lennon song and make it as good as he did. He was (and still is) one of the greatest song writers and singers this world has ever known. If anyone tries to cover a song and make it a hit (*coughgreendaycough*), then it just becomes a pitiful attempt and they end up looking bad.

That's kinda true in general. I heard a cover of 5:15 (don't remember the band) but the bassist and singer sucked so much in comparison to John and Roger.
