The online registration for the "Halo 3" competition opens Tuesday, October 30, 2007. The initial admission price is $475 per person, but X Factor Tournament has agreed to provide a special "early-bird" discounted admission price for three days (until noon November 2nd) of $275. No pre-qualification or tournament experience is necessary to participate in this competition.

haha, and people wonder why halo sells so well...good game? nope.....good payout in tourneys over the last 5 years..yep

that entry fee is ridiculous though for the non "pro-gamer" folks

The entry fee wasn't the only thing that freaked out a lot of people.

They also stated:

1) It will be FFA and not 4v4
2) The million dollars is not guaranteed. If not enough people sign up the prize winnings WILL be dropped...

I read on their site yesterday that the money was deposited into an account so that people knew it wasnt a scam. Seems fishy to meeeeeee.

On this page it says it a little bit different though...

http://www.thecpl.com/winter/index.php?p=tournaments

"If the tournament spots are not all taken by the close of the online registration, an adjustment in tournament size and cash prizes will be determined by XFT, the tournament producer."

They keep changing the page. When I originally read it this morning it said the money was in an account and the winner of the FFA would receive 250,000 cash payout.

Even if I could register, I think I'd avoid it. Something is off there.

I really think that a FFA contest sounds like fun! and they place up to like 64 and u can still leave with a couple thou'$, which would probably pay for the hotel stay for like a week and the entrance fee plus the plane ticket there! I just wish it was here in Atlanta http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I want to go, but spending $800 to get there for an FFA tournament that probably wont be decided by true skill is not something I fancy.

Still getting used to bumper jumper then... I know your pain, I'm still trying to adapt myself. actualy that gives me an idea for a new topic http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4091020922/m/3591073306 , it's something I've been curious about for a while. :shades:

The only way im paying that much for a 4 person free for all is if its held at a Howard Johnson http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif but seriously, 4 people???? wtf! thats almost as dumb as hammers on vahalalala! I like FFA, but only with 8 people, hey if it was FFA br start on guardian i would pay like 75 at the most.

For once I agree with you. And $275 for early bird, and $475 at the door is way too high. MLG will probably just buy up lots of spots for their halo 3 players. So it will probably be hard to win money if they actually hand it out. lol

Why do you have to say something hurtful like that?

It is that comment that makes you a mutant *****masexual.
