I believe they should eliminate individual creature roaming on the adventure map. Instead, we should be able to recruit Heroes as long as we have the money to do so. We shoudn't be restricted by weekly hiring or even recruiting creatures in the Castles. We should be able to send specialized Heroes instead of creatures to scout around and spot enemy forces. I always found myself in H4 hunting the last remaining enemy creatures when I defeated all of their Heroes and captured all of their Castles! those creatures were a hindrence to strategy. When all Heroes and Castles for a particular alignment are defeated and captured no creatures should remain.

Actually, the problem you and a lot of other players had in Homm4 with roaming creatures was the fault of the map-makers, for not setting the correct victory conditions in the map. Which brings me to the point of this reply, and that is; What's to stop roaming Heroes giving you exactly the same problem that you had with roaming creatues??? It all comes down to the victory conditions placed on a map.

Ya well that's the point, aligned creatures or Heroes should disapear when they are vanquished.
I'm fed up of chasing them around ! It slows the game down too.

This aspect of Homm IV was too good to be left behind OMHO! Under the caos banner, you could use bandit to sneak between low level creature on the adventure map and collect ressources and artifact that you could then bring to your Heroe!!! BANDIT was one,or even the one, of the best new aspect of this title.
You was also able to let creature form your army behind when it was necessary. For exemple, if you knew that the Hero, or the creatures you were about to fight, had fire attack or a high fire based spell ability, you could let your water elemental behind ( they have low fire endurence btw)
