This one has got to go to Teledahn. Overall, I found this age the most visually and musically pleasing, and most of the puzzles seemed to fit in perfectly with the world. Many elements of this age reminded me of the original Myst, which I will forever proclaim as the all time greatest game.

My second favorite goes to Kadish, mostly because I enjoyed how the age was set up, where we're given the key to every puzzle at the beginning, and it's then up to us to figure out how to use the key.

Eder Gira wins the award for most annoying age. I don't think I need to explain why. Luckily Eder Kamo offered a bit of salvation, in being really quite beautiful. I enjoyed the rainstorm effect as well.

I'm sure I would have enjoyed Gahraseen more if the load time wasn't so obscene. But I blame my computer for that. Time to get a new processor, I guess.

definately Cleft, it has that stuco village feel from Riven, I love that, makes the place more beliveable, besides i love deserts. other then that i have to say i did enjoy Teledahn aswell, it was very surreal in a MYST kinda way, very etherical.

No offense.. but hadn't we agreed that the names/etc are spoilers.. So this should probably be migrated to the spoilage forum?

Not to tell anyone their job, just noticed there's a lot of spoilish type material in this.

I personally like the newer Ages I haven't discovered yet. Mainly because I haven't discovered them yet.

Since the topic is asking about specific Ages, I moved this to the spoiler section.

Kadish... the puzzles make sense when it's all viewed as an elaborate lock (though I'm still scratching my head as to why the key was left in plain sight!), and the areas with the trees and the drifting leaves have my vote for the loveliest (and most original) scenery in the game.

Big mushrooms? Nice, but I've seen it before. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I jumped in Kadish after being startled, the first time I saw a leaf float past while I was looking through the telescope.

I jumped in fright when I saw that cliff hanging and flesh eating bug in Eder Kimo.

I jumped for joy when I finally saw Shroomie in Teledahn.

I tried to jump off onto a smaller rock formation in Gahreesen, but alas it wasn't meant to be although it would have been nice to see the view from below.

And I jumped in frustration in Eder Gira to end it all after unsuccessfully trying too many times to get those damn baskets to line up. That waterfall looks so tempting, just one leap and *ahhh* panic linked back to Relto....let's play with some sticks for awhile...

That's my memories on jumping through the ages.

Flesh eating bugs in Kemo? They never ate my flesh! It's just a coincidence that my avatar looks like the lead singer of the Grateful Dead. It was really due to the lava in Gira... Really!

My favorite age so far is Er'cana.

Heh heh.

i would rank them like this:

1. kadish (very puzzle-oriented; reminded me of the age in exile where there were three puzzles just laid out for you to solve)

2. teledahn (good puzzles and a nice looking area)

3. gahreesen (basically just one puzzle and lot of walking around, but the fortress was cool)

4. eder gira/remo (ugh...steam plate puzzle and lightning bug puzzle, neither of which were very interesting; eder gira had no puzzles at all, just walk around and find the cloths)

Gahreesen all the way. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I love those sealed doors with the hydraulic locks. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Next in line would be Teledahn, then Kalish Tolesa.

This was a tough one to decide, but Kadish Tolesa won out in the end.

Kadish Tolesa harkens back to the look and feel of Channelwood from Myst, minus the water and massive puzzles. The eerie purplish hue and the all too familiar ambient sounds give this age a really creepy yet somehow tranquill feel. And who doesn't like a huge puzzle box that stores treasures? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Gahreesen is straight up plain awesome. Reminds me somewhat of the mechanical age from Myst , but with a more alien feel and ofcourse a surrounding forest.

Teledahn takes a strong third with it's lumbering mushrooms and weird solar powered machinery. Nothing was more awesome in this game than raising the solar dish and seeing the age come to life. Plus the backround info on the lifeform Shroomie was well done. Now if I can only get a darn pic of it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Eder Gira wasn't so hot on my list of likeable areas. The terrain didn't look so hot in my opinion and the puzzles were kinda lacking. Although the waterfall area was a pretty awesome set piece. Eder Kemo will probally end up being my relaxtion age, unless of course 'Live' adds even better areas which I'm sure it will.

The Cleft was pretty cool. Good starting point for your journey. Kinda Riven like. Liked the recorder, reminded me of similiar devices in the other 3 games.

Of course I really like the Relto, just wish it was a bigger place and was customizable to some extent other than Relto pages. For example I wish you could take your own screenie of some new age you just visited and were able to upload the picture to some kinda picture frame hanging on you wall. Unreal 2 was supposed to have something similiar in your crew cabin, but it got axed. Maybe in Live it will expand.

Won't comment too much on the other areas as I don't want to slip a spoiler in there by accident.

Good to see the result. There was a similar vote in the beta some time ago, and the result was very similar. Kadish and Teledahn neck and neck.

I really enjoy Teledahn, especially trying to lure Shrroomie for a close up look, but my vote goes to Kadish Tolesa. There is just something eerily magnificent in the ambience there. It is that Age that I get the "Alice in Wonderland" feeling the most (the most immersive). http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The first time I got onto the roof of the first building in Gahreesahn my breath was literally taken away. This was a truly awesome view. I couldn't wait to get into the main fortress building! And I loved the hydraulic doors...

Unfortunately, I found the gameplay in Garrison to be pretty boring. Only one puzzle in the whole age, otherwise it was just running round, balancing and jumping. I spent ages trying to make the maintainer suit room work somehow, but it seems like we have to wait 'til Live to go play on the wall. Unfortunately Gahreesahn has to be pushed down the list.

Eder Gira and Eder Kemo were OK, but I found the graphics in Gira a bit cartoonesque and I thought the main puzzle with the fireflies was just plain silly. The graphics in Kemo were nice but getting the journey cloths was just too simple and aside from that the only thing to do there was collect fireflies.

The Cleft was also a bit disappointing, as it was like a big platform game running up and down on the ledges. Again, not much in the way of puzzles.

That leaves Teledahn and Kadish. Both are pretty great. Overall, I probably enjoyed Kadish more - I prefer the ambience, for one, and it is very puzzle-driven (and I've still to nut out the last one!), and I liked the idea of linear progress through a huge security system - it's almost like a heist movie. However, Teledahn was a great environment to look at and when I finish the game I've got to go back and see if I can lure Shroomie closer!

So in order:
Kadish
Teledahn
Gahreesahn
Eder Kemo
Eder Gira
Cleft

(I don't really count Relto as a proper age.)

I have not finished the game yet, but from what I've seen so far:

Teledahn is my favorite. It's beautiful, and the sun puzzle is really imaginative. I haven't seen Shroomie yet, I need to get around to that sometime.

Gahreesen comes in second. The outdoor view is just amazing. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen rendered in real time on my computer. The only reason it doesn't take first place is because there wasn't enough of being outside.

I really don't like Kadish very much. It's dark and dreary, and I hate puzzles that require me to sketch complex artwork. And I have that ring alignment puzzle exactly correct, but that damn door still won't open (is it an error in the strategy guide?).

I haven't seen the other ages yet.
