save failed

hi,
i was around 40% of the game, but then my save games were gone.
i didn't mind starting over, i like the game alot, but when you fight your way out of Pala, at the very beginning of the game, i can't save http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

when i press F5 or "talk" to the blue save game box, i get the error "Save Failed"...
i really don't know what to do, my computer can handle the game, i'm sure of that and i haven't changed anything of the files.

Is it possible that there is something wrong with the save game folder ? uninstalling and then reinstalling doesn't seem to work

I just noticed that when i create a online profile, i can play on that profile, but when i exit far cry and start up again, the profile is gone
