most likely, as i get this error as well, we both did not read the supported video cards area. so heres that area and hopefully once i get this video card its fixed.

*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
ATI RADEON 8500/9000/X series
NVIDIA GeForce 3/4/FX/6 series (GeForce 4 MX NOT SUPPORTED)

I have a FX5600XT (Gainward) Card. Sounds like I have the same problem

Your MX cards are unsupported...sorry guys. Swordfish...do you get an error or just black screen when you start up to play?

MX is not supported. It's on the box. Sadly a lot of games don't support the MX hardware http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

And the only fix is to get a new card.

i have installed everything for the game and all it does is bring up a black screen, sounds that there is an error, then later changes to the error box. It reads: Failed to create Render Target A (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL). I have downladed and applied the patch 1.02, but nothing has changed. What do I do?
