I am curious as to what everyone here thinks of the slide feature.
For me, it has been a major pain in the rear. Every time I try to crouch down now my character slides about 2 feet and then leaves me there for like .5 seconds standing around like an idiot.

I haven't found a situation for it to be useful?
and this is after ~8 hours of demo play

Same here it just means I have to come to a complete stop when I want to crouch.
It's not that bad, although it's kinda of annoying at times.
I've seen some people on the other team do it and I just pump them up full of lead from the Famas. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

Hate the slide. There is a way to avoid it though. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The slide is almost useless since you don't slide very far or fast, although it is fun pulling out the pistol and trying to "Chuck Norris" someone! LOL
In my opinion, they could keep it in, but have the user hold the L trigger while pressing the left thumbstick in. More complicated, but hey a running slide isn't easy with all the gear on anyways!

moving directly sideways will avoid the slide I believe

have to try that...
i was thinking hitting the left trigger just as you crouch may do it.

It's especially silly watching the enemy IA running full tilt and then sliding briefly. (out in the open mind you; not going for comver)

Totally agree, I feel there's lack of control when i'm trying to crouch. I keep sliding when i barely move.

We have a winner!
Doesn't bother me either way.

looks cool and all, but has no actual function unless you count getting yourself killed.

yes, just tried it
have to be a little good with the timing if you don't want to break stride but it works

Yeah, just takes a little practice (just like everything else), but I think it's good we have something new to practice at. I guarantee not everyone will know/try/perfect it so put it to use.

I like it, but i don`t need it. 70/30.
It`s more or less just eye-candy to me.
In a panic shot-out it might save me, but just aswell get me killed...
The dive-in i rarely use, but this one is gonna be a panic move because it`s too easy to preform.

Sliding is worst thing in MP so far, and you shouldn't have to hold the left trigger or move sideways so it doesn't slide. Thanks UBI for putting out the Demo you've just saved me $60.00
