Oké, this is a difficutl question in many ways!

1. I'm making many spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes when writing english.

2. This passion-question has many (and when I say many, it is many!) answers!

These are some om mine:

1. Hitler was born in the most patriotic region of that time: the german regions. Since the german reunion in the 19th century this country fought in many patriotic wars like the Franco-Prussian war in 1870, the first Worldwar (1914-1918). And the Second worldwar also was a patriotic war to prove its power and status in Europe and the rest of the world. Germany tended to take as much colonies as possible for its own (like the east-african countries, later on taken by the Britisch after WW1, the borderregion between France and germany + some regions in Congo). Not to forget is the war between Austria and France (I'm not correct - 1790 ).

2. Adolf Hitler fought in Flanders from 1914 till 1918 in the german army. He believed in the cause and the potential of the german army. After germany's defeat he lived in a country that had to empty its moneybags becaus of the treaty of Versailles in 1919. When a patriotic country is supressed by its enemies it wants to break free by any means neccesairy. By that time he already was a real german and wanted to reinnact the german regions.

There could be more, or mine can be detailed more, but I'm sure this question is one of the hardest to answer...

Ive actually never read or heard him call himself german. He mainly refers to "The Fatherland" and "The German People" and "the reich" and "greater germany". But I guess his passion comes from his maddness of power and actually having this big monster persay, full of power, and since germany is his, he is german, if you get what Im saying. Kinda like Arnold Schwarz...Schwarzi...The Terminator guy (being austrian) being such an ardent US Patriot and the Governator of Kalifornia

he was born in Austria, but there were many Germans living in Austria....
Just like today there are many Turkish people living (and born)in Germany that do not consider themselves German in any way....

Hitler could just as easily have been born in any country....as long as one of his parents was German, he could consider himself to be German.

Yes but, oké, he also said in his first war-speach something like: I don't expect anything more from a german (soldier) than what I did in my 4 years (WW1).

yeah, you'll find that the Germans and Austrians, like the French, are decended from the Goths (the guys who whipped the Roman Empire). The Austrians are very much like the Germans, they might as well be the same country. I think Hitler may have just seen Germany as a more powerful country which is why he moved there. Then he fought for Germany in WW1 and got the Iron Cross. When he got back, he saw how stuffed around the country was getting due to the treaty of Versaille (the treaty which, once the depression kicked in, meant that one US dollar was equal to roughly 2.4 billion Deutschmarks [German currency]). This, quite understandably, ticked him off and he felt the need to do something about it. So he joined up with the workers unions and got them to see that the Jews were their enemies (because the jews didn't have to pay as much as the Germans) and should be eradicated. Thus came the beginnings of WW2.
