My suggestions :

1.If the game is going to be linear, make it a long game with double the gameplay hours.

2.Fix the bugs before final release.

So basically, don't rush it so you can put in all the features that are needed/desirable/fun and test it thourghly? Sound advice for any developer who wants to make a cracking game. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
You know taking time to get it right is why Valve games are usually awesomesauce.

Oh, and I'd suggest KEEP SUPPORTING THE GAME. Especially the MP, especially when it's quite a brokened MP compared to some of the very polished MP games out there today. An updated DM MP that's actually balanced well with no/very minor exploits, no/very minor bugs and no way at all to hack it without tremendous effort would be Godly. Heck I found it great the first time round, if done better it could be Legendary.

Although story wise, tis hard to say what to suggest. I personally think all new characters, with perhaps cameos from the first game, and an all new player charcter would be the way to go, with a story that's perhaps very unrelated to the first DM. Just go elsewhere in the M&M universe, heck don't even call it DM, as long as the basic premise of swords, socery, FP action, lovely physics, ropebows and great environment interaction are there I'd be happy.

Well let's hope they hire BlindNero, at least he could help setting not working PCs...

IF ANYONE READ OUR SUGESTIONS... I WOULD LIKE TO SEE LARGE CITY WHERE YOU CAN HAVE SOME INTERACTIONS WITH NEW CHARACTERS; TO HAVE QUEST LIKE HUNT ETC. FOR LEARNING POINTS THAT YOU CAN USE TO RAISE LEVELS. WHERE I WANT TO GET IS BY BORROWING SOME GOTHIC INFLUENCE OR ELDER SCROOLS [OBLIVION] YOU WILL CREATE A MASTERPIECE!

Dark Messiah 2? Make it freeform, like Oblivion. I want to be able to lose myself in it for months. The one thing I don't like about the game is the linear nature: level one, level two and so on. I want a vast universe to play in, full of towns, cities, NPCs and side quests! Oblivion x Dark Messiah = Amazing game!

Edit: @Brainstorm: No need to SHOUT!!

No way!!! God damn it no way!!! Do you hear me? I don't want to hear the name of that crappy **** game next to Dark Messiah!!!
Are you out of your ****ing minds??? How many times must I say??? Oblivion and other open ended world games like it are nothing but ****!!! You got alot of freedom to do NOTHING!!!
That's why Dark Messiah is such a good game, because it has a story and you stick to it!
Why do you need freeform? Don't you have a life? I mean a real one? You need to fake a life in games like Oblivion? I really don't see the point of it!You can free roaming as much as you like in your own free life!!!So cut the crap about Oblivion next to Dark Messiah!
When I said suggestions I wasn't talking about the structure of the game,I was talking about a different game engine design, plots, stories, connections etc etc. This game is good as it is! There is no need to transform it into a boring game like Oblivion!!!
And btw Gothic is not a freeform game!!!

I think "freeform" could also be "random monsters/targets spawn"...
Then COOPERATIVE 3/4 men team...

Well i repeat myself saying, to me it is a huge mystery why this superb unique game didn't get a Part 2. Highly original in every aspect, storyline, controls and visually delicious.

I say it's near perfect as it is. I just want a new release (for PC)!

If they ever made another Dark Messiah, I want the game to be more larger and much more better. I want the storyline to improve in this game, I want brilliant cutscenes, and took the rule of playing other characters during the game from each civilization. I want this gamer to be at least 75 hours long for us all, and want it to be epic like the other might and magic games. I also want this to be where new civilizations arise in this game as well.

Whoah...calm down!!!!! The reason I want it to be freeform is I tend to come back to those for years, whereas with linear mission progression type games, I play them once, twice maybe and that's it. Freeform games are far better VFM as far as I'm concerned.

Also, to say that you have a lot of freedom to do nothing in Oblivion is just daft. Freeform games are the future.

Edit: I'm talking purely campaign mode here, not online.

Aaaaaand the only way it'll be anywhere near that long is if it is a freeform game.

There is only one company that can make it.
And that is Arkane Studios.
The problem is that Ubisoft has the rights for the franchise so there cannot be any other publisher.

The developers could approach a sequel the same way star wars did-a retrospective approach, maybe before the 7th Dragon and the evil had their match. A place of fabled lands and before the was a thing called spectrum in light...a time when all was one, but things where starting to go south. Something along those parameters...a time when Zana was a beautiful human woman and all creatures had a innocent existance.

I really want at least a game like Dark Messiah. They could just make a new one with the gameplay and stuff from Dark Messiah, but if they want to earn some money on the game, they better make it Free roam, that's how they earn money if you ask me, cause I think a lot of people want a game where they can do anything they want. But don't forget an interesting storyline.

Make the game less linear, add a new talent tree; Demonolgy.
Which lets you take control of demons, gain demonic strength I'unno crap like that.

Support the game for longer.

DM is the best game i have ever played. But there is so many of these ideas i have in my mind for making it better, so I'll tell you the main ones.
Well, the 1st thing is, that you should be able to use spells that affects a vast area, and so the player could see the huge amount of energy unleashed from the caster, like big explosions, lifting huge objects with telechinesis etc. (Maybe it could be similar to the use of the Force in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.)
2nd, it would be very good if there were more spells, weapons and armors. (Well, this also depends on the length of the game.)
For now, I wouldn't like to make this message too long, so If you like my ideas, tell me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
I hope you do like my ideas http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I think it would be awesome if they made Dark Messiah free roam! I think they would earn more money on it and it would be longer. I also think they should make it like battlefield: bad company so you can destroy castles if you were in a war, like if you had control over a balista or a catapult, so you could shoot the at the castle and watch parts fall off. Now that would be awesome!

this is a bit off-topic.
People say Ubisoft only care for money, but they made Grey's anatomy... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif I thionk they could earn a lot of money on making a Dark Messiah 2, if they just polished it a bit more and maybe it free roam, like I've said 2 times already, guess you're getting tired of listening to me say that

Sadly the only games with "eternal support" developed with Source engine are those made by Valve alone or the mods developed by folks for free.

Developers paid for their "work" (remember: they simply modded HL2) once they get their money, they simply disappear, just to come back with another "project" few time later.
It has happened with Vampire then DM, 2 interesting games now dead.

Free modders out there keep in touch with the engine updates and keep their mod updated as well.
Modders keep in touch with players too.
Have a look at Arkane forum and you'll have a glimpse for The Crossing's future support http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif or what they think about DM2...

For what we've seen so far, let's hope they'll wait for Windows7 before launching any "game" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Oblivion was a crap game, I played Arx Fatlais and I was blown away, I played Oblivion and I counted the flaws and gave up after a day.

However Dark messiah2 being a freeform game is not a bad idea.

Bethesda never made a freeform game first...the first freeform game was Utima, then came The elder crap Arena that copied Utima, Arx Fatlais was formed off of Utima underworld, then came Dark messiah based on the success of Arx Fatalis.

They made DM seem like AF by allowing you to do what you want in the enviroment.

Now if DM was a free roamer game, unlike Oblivion, we'll probably be able to climb trees, set houses and grass on fire and jump from roof to roof like an assassin.

You'll be able to do more in the world and not wander around exploring caves that take the same shape as the last like they do in oblivion.

We'll be able to interact with are enviroment, probably build blockades on roads and wait to ambush a group of elder fools who are traders.

Anyway I hope for Arx Fatalis 2 more than DM2, if there was a AF2 it'll be cool to explore the outside world, judging by the books and what you saw through the telescope there would only be snow.

I accutully got outside through that gate near the Human outpost, I had the key, but opening it killed you, so I summoned a zombie behind it, hit it and it opened the door and I killed it and went into the darkness to disscover a path leading into more darkness, I headed into it and soon I was above the cave and was walking ontop of an invisible roof(I could see the cave ground from below)so it did not get me to the outside world..but it did get me to develepor space the place you would see if you design the world.

I hope Arx Fatalis II does come out...it'll be awesome and probably get more game of the year awards than the first one.

I think most of what i would want has alrdy been said. Definatly would want an extended list of magics in game and keeping a second form. Also would suggest either the removal of the multiple copies of enchanted weapons, armor, etc. To replace this I would recommend either making more unique items, or making some kind of shop. More classes of weapons would also be nice, such as maces, axes, or 2 handed weps. Free form could work but i think a linear story with multiple approaches would work better for this game.

04-20-2009, 12:05 AM
Stick with the system you have, same weapons and spells but add just one extra dimension to everything: combine movement with your attacks and blocks for more effectiveness, and for magic add a "magical energy vibration meter" that you can time casting with to create various effects. Another level added to the skill tree wouldn't hurt, but I liked the parred down, well thought out quality.
Use the same level designers, they did an outstanding job I thought. The textures too were gorgeous, making me stop and stare at tapestries and windows many times. When you have a game concept that your studio is energized about, they will go the extra mile for it.
Never offer the same magical weapon more than once...it ****ed me off that I worked hard to get the Master Thief Outfit on one level, only to find it in a chest in the next level.

I'd see a linear campaign, the game is heavily designed around puzzles and that's hard to do with a freestyle game.

if UBI ever get around to DM2, I'd like to see some Cameo from HOMM. Nothing can make player feel important like fighting alongside a world renowned hero even for a short period of time. Fighting beside Agrael would just be that awesome to long time HOMM fans.

Oh btw, could any possible squeal focus on the remaining factions ? we have seen heaven, infernal, necropolis and stronghold units. It'd be cool to visit other factions on foot IMO.

It'd be nice to see more spell combos - freeze and telekinesis was awesome. Perhaps one could cast a lighting bolt on a fire trap to turn it into a electric trap or a freeze on it to create an ice trap http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Now, I think Oblivion was a great game, I don't know why others are harassing it, but that's just an opinion. Now, I'd like DM2 to be free roam AND have an optional third person view, so you could actually see yourself.

I would love a dark messiah 2! but I would not like that they did it in third persson, it is good as it is. i dont want it to be like oblivion but that you can play free after you have finished the story, but the hard thing to do is to make the second one with all the 4 different endings on the last one ...

damn, Ubisoft just should be inspired by the other MM games. 1 person instead of 4, possible. (I liked the multiple specializations).
More complicated experience tree I would suggest. (just like previous' ones http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)
Also, you should be able to just be fréé. Talk with everybody(strong point of the previous' might and magic). Oh, and if it is too difficult for someone, they can use a walkthrough. Oh, and make the mage more powerfull. And I would suggest some "very" important decisions (good vs eveil), like haven-like, and necromancy. And maybe some more. So you are able to play the game multiple times. (Might and Magic VII, I've played that too many times xD)

So:
- more freedom
- more decisions which are important
- more complicated experience tree

PS: The previous' games are better in my opinion, just the graphics suck(and the game engine).

I still find myself playing the game now and then, and i believe it's because of the combat diversity. There are simply loads off different ways to kill creatures in the game. I've played dark messiah more than half-life 2 and that is beacause i find hl2 more limited, 9 weapons and you could'nt combine them in a killing act, as with an arrow in the head, followed by a freeze spell, and a kick ove the edge. I'm totally supporting a dark messiah 2.
I also played oblivion a lot, and i think a mixture of those 2 games would be asolutely awsome. First-person is the only way http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif, but the abillity to go third would not be a bad move. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Dark Messiah was awesome i was totally drawn into it please make a sequel. The only bad thing about it was that there was way to little weapons and armor and rings and when i was so happy and thought I LOVE THIS i cant wait for what happens now i thought i was halfway thru at most.. AND THEN THE GAME ENDED! that sucked http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
