Found this little tidbit while surfing the net, and got soem details on how the factions will play differently apparently:

http://kotaku.com/5616648/migh...es-vi-might-be-magic (http://kotaku.com/5616648/might-and-magic-heroes-vi-might-be-magic)

Certainly sounds interesting with the Necromancers relying more on drawing out a battle for example, makes me wonder how the other 4 will play out.

Plus more details on the campaign is also good.

Love that the focus more on roleplaying, if that is true. Just hope the story of the campaign will be that much better too. From what that bloke says it sounds more like the Heroes II story than any other http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The only things in there I don't like is the game being compared to Blizzard stuff and I'm not too sure about boss fights.

Will surf a bit around and get some more coherent thoughts once I have some more time http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Well some bits do sound interesting, personally factions playing more differently sounds great to me and the storyline does have some less droll aspects to it. And as long as they get some good voice actors this time around ... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

As to the blizzard bit ?. well that does sound a bit off, as far as i am concerned, blizzard stands for shiny.. and stagnancy.

But i do wonder how these advanced classes will play out, and if there will be any visual aspects to it.

"Tides will slowly rise on some battlefields" - does that mean if you're fighting near a coast, parts of the battle map will become accessible only to water-born units or summat? Kind of cool idea but I'll believe it when I see it....

Sounds like there are no more random choices you have to pick on level up. That is probably the biggest positive change I have seen so far from the little bits we have been given.

Always found it annoying
Choose a Skill
Navigation or Eagle Eye
... And this is offered on your Might Hero on a Land-Only map...

Hmm... don't know how i missed it, but it seems like you can now also change cities to fit to your race.

I noticed that one too... That one I have a bad feeling about. I hope what they meant was capture neutral cities and change them into your own. Because capturing enemy cities and converting them will be almost equivalent to razing them I think... which is almost as bad as perma-loss of defeated Heroes...

Well theoretically it would also mean you could turn the city back. But it certainly could be a tide turner depending on factors such as if a city converted loses all upgrades..

Although that does beg a question, how does the city upgrade screen look, how does the recruitment screen look ?

I think the only sensible way to work "razing" a town would be to have it take a period of turns (a full week, I would say); as long as the other player recaptures the town in that time, their city is safe. A bit nonsensical from a realism standpoint, but it would certainly make things a bit more fair while still giving late-game "razing" a decent shot.

Unless the conversion doesn't destroy buildings or upgrades; in which case, it could very well work without that long timeframe. But I would wonder how that might work for things like unique castle upgrades.

I'm more interested in this than I was in Heroes 5. Hopefully it works out well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Check out Age of Wonders (1 of course).
Works great there, I think it's a welcome addition in H6 and even a bit overdue, really http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
Or maybe I'm just an AoW***.

In Age of Wonders you can build new cities whenever and wherever you want (if you have the money of course), which kind of makes the existing ones not-so-important. But this doesn't mean that the idea can not be featured in HoMM too, it will just have to be done delicately. WoG has an option for razing and re-building towns, but it consumes at least 1 week and plenty of gold if the given town is well-developed. Sometimes it's just better to use the other race's units than wasting so much time and resources just to have double population of your own. If they can apply something similar in the new game, I don't see a problem really.
The rest of the things sound interesting too, provided the game remains HoMM-like and does not become King's Bounty: The Legend or Age of Wonders (there seem to be other similarities with it, not just the town razing/re-building) clone.

Not in AoW1.
Building entire new towns shouldn't be included as a feature in the game, IMHO. Will make it a nightmare to balance and it'd detract from the experience, I'd say.
