Hi anyone else notice that the Black Keys song is 4.99 through the in game store on PS3?
Or is it just me?

I'll get an Xbox before I do that.

I have an xbox. It was basically a coin toss as to which system to get it on.
Just another thing that has me annoyed with the game.
I find it extremely insulting a company would ask me to pay nearly double what someone else is paying for the same content.
Had I known PS3 DLC would be so much more expensive I would have got it on 360. Actually, I probably wouldn't have gotten it at all.

Hi there
Joined to make this post
Am a huge Rocksmith fan and even bought a PS3 to play it (am in Europe)
I had planned to buy every piece of DLC in order to support the Rocksmith project and was happy with $3
** BUT **
Black Keys for $5 on PSN when its $3 on x-box ????
Someboody from UBIsoft needs to clarify why this is and what they intend to do about it. It's unreasonable

Not just you. If they intend to charge $5 per song, I will not be buying very many DLC songs. $3 is better, and if XBox owners only have to pay that, they better fix that ASAP. Even at $3, I am going to be very selective about what songs I buy. I think they would be much better served to price them out at $2- then I bet volume will increase enough to make up for the lower profit margin.

hell will freeze over before I pay $4-$5 for a single song, lol.
$2 is reasonable, $3 for famous songs by top name acts. I'd only pay $4-$5 for big classics, like Pink Floyd "Money" or AC/DC "Thunderstuck" or similar.
$5 each is Way too much, in my opinion; I'll never pay that much. Ubi will likely test various price points to see what sells best, they're a business... a few early adopters will pay up, most of us won't, eventually it'll all work out.
One thing I've been buying on amazon is the "play along" cds + books, that are less than $15 or so for 5-10 songs, with cds and play-along full tablature and notes, to learn from, from top artists like Pink Floyd, Rush, Police etc, like these:
http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate...id=1320236549&sr=8-1 (http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Guitar-Play-Along-Rush-Authentic/dp/073905712X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320236549&sr=8-1)
http://www.amazon.com/PINK-FLO...id=1320236571&sr=1-1 (http://www.amazon.com/PINK-FLOYD-Leonard-Guitar-Play-Along/dp/1423414101/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1320236571&sr=1-1)
Sure Rocksmith is getting me started playing guitar, but the goal is to play guitar using TABLATURE and sheet music like any musician, so I'll never pay $5 for a single DLC song; I'll just buy the sheet music books + tabs for a fraction of that to actually learn it.

I would really like an answer to why the pricing is different from the PS3 to XBOX. If it's gonna be consistent, I'll return my PS3 copy for a 360 copy.

Same here. This seems like a complete swindling. What could possibly justify paying a 66% premium for the exact some product?

I did check out their Facebook page and didn't see anything about the pricing. Not sure about twitter.
I personally don't have an account for either. I'm somewhat anti-social media.

Sorry JayPea, not a dig at you ... that was a shot at UBI and the abysmal job they are doing managing this community.
Like it or not they are going to be compared to their competition (you know who they are, right UBI?) and right now this customer is extremely disappointed in the amount of meaningful information coming from them ... nadda, zip, zilch, bubkis.
I really, really hope they up their game here, because I believe they have something special with RS, without a thriving, supportive community, however, this is going to fizzle out and die as quickly as it came to be.

I agree with you. They do seem to be on their facebook wall, but it's so cluttered it's hard to go their for answers and find them quickly.
I posted on facebook using my girlfriends account. Hopefully I get an answer soon. A fellow facebooker said it's $2.99 on both systems so I'm hoping it was just a mistake when they put it up last night.
I am at work currently and can't check out the PS3 store to see if the price got updated. Waiting for someone here or over on facebook to confirm that the store has it listed at $2.99 now.

Good to hear that - now I can buy it. Wasn't gaonna happen otherwise
I also agree that the comms is poor, I just think the whole project is unloved. I hope the really positive grassroots response and the decent sales changes that. It will fizzle out if they don't get their **** together. I expect to service pack 2 sooner rather than later

Where the hell is ubisoft on this? They've had plenty of time to respond to the questions whether it's 'sorry, that's how it is on PS3' or 'oops, that is a mistake, we'll fix it' or even 'we don't know what the deal is, we are checking and will get back to you.'
Crappy, crappy, crappy customer relations so far. Yes, I did check facebook and twitter.

They may have 'fixed' it, but I paid the $4.99 last night and haven't seen any sort of refund for the extra $2 yet. Not that it's a huge deal, but the total lack of communication is pi$$ing me off.

From what I've seen over there on FB, they are all about marketing the game (they should be). Posting links to Youtube and generally "announcing" features or DLC. No real info, like what's being asked for here...
Social media is great for something like this, generating interest and getting "likes and thumbs-up". Honestly, I'd be disappointed if they weren't using social media to spread the word about the game.
Social media, however, is not conducive to managing the community, IMO. It may be an element, but not the centerpiece. Look at the competition, they have Twitter, FB, Podcasts, live streaming sessions, AND a very active forum. Most of their social media outlets point people to their website (which is refreshed with content constantly) and their forums.
Outside of a lone tech resource that has posted here and there, there is no community awareness on these forums by UBI whatsoever. :shrugs:

Agreed. I may be a bit spoiled by what I've come to expect in terms of how their competition treats their community (excellent response, involvement, etc) but holy crap, Ubisoft STILL hasn't even put a banner on their forum page for Rocksmith like they have for all their other games. Seriously, how hard is that? The game has been released for two weeks.

I can't reproduce this on my end - still 4.99. I'm on PSN in Canada, hopefully that's not gonna be an issue.
If it is, they can eat it - flat-out not paying that.

Well that was heartening news, but I just logged in to check and as of 11:21 am Pacific Time 11-02-11 the price of Tighten Up is still listed as $4.99 is there a manual update I need to do?
I'm not paying a 40% premium for the privilege of playing on a PS3 when guys on Xbox are not.
It's time to get on the phone to these people and let them know this isn't going to fly.
Ubi customer support# 1 (888)824-7038
I called and they said pricing was a sony deal and so I called Sony
1-800-345-7669
and they said it was not a mistake and I said was was going to shop for an Xbox.
Get on the phone everybody please.
Let them know we aren't going for it.

We apologize for the inconvenience, the pricing is wrong for the Black Keys - Tighten Up song on the Playstation Store. At the moment the Playstation Store has this song up for $4.99. We have contacted Sony and they're aware of the pricing issue. At this time, we recommend holding off on purchasing this song until this has been resolved.

Spoiled? I prefer to think of it as the standard by which others should be held. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif If we think Harmonix spoils us, then we are destined to accept what UBI is dishing. No way, this is poor, regardless of how many ways you look at it.

Why do we have to throw a Two day tantrum to get anything done?
I work for a game company and we have rooms full of people whose job is community management.
I appreciate you being here, but dude there needs to be someone here whose job it is to nurture this community.
Right now you have a community based on a shared feeling of neglect and frustration.

How sad that the first and only response from UBI is buried 3 pages down and 24 hours after the fact.
If you don't want people spending the extra $2 don't you think a large comment somewhere obvious would be good? You realize there will be customers who are not aware the price is wrong and will pay that premium?
Don't you think your customers at least deserve some sort of warning, like a Wall post on your Facebook page (since you guys can't be bothered to use your real site)? That seems like a pretty obvious customer service move to me.

In all seriousness, the level of apathy and indifference from UBI is troubling. Maybe someone should link these threads directly to their FB pages; heck that might cause them to start paying attention here if social media is used to point out our frustration.

I don't know guys, but I guess that, maybe we'll see the price drop only next week... Since the PSN updates only on a weekly basis, I guess that even though they already know the price is incorrect, the solution might be applied only on the next PSN update, which is just next Tuesday.
Hence, I would suggest not bothering for this song for this week andcheck again only next week.
I repeat - I'll never purchase a single song for USD4,99, even if it's an amazing song (which is not the case for this song...)

Sony only updates their PSN once a week, every Tuesday. (Unless there's a special occasion; E3, etc.)
In the past; I've never seen them fix an error before an update.
Don't expect the price of the song to be fix before Tuesday.

$4.99 is way too much for a single track, $2.99 feels a little close to over priced for comfort. I aggree 2.99 for high profile tacks. I'd be comfortable paying $5 bucks for a pack with two or three songs.

I could be wrong, but I remember an instance where there was a mix up on PSN for a RB3 track. I think the Pro-upgrade got switched with the actual track in the store, so people trying to buy the track were just getting the upgrade. If I remember correctly, it didn't take until the next update to get that fixed.
Even if does take until the next PSN update to fix, there's no reason Ubisoft shouldn't know the details by now (2 days later) and be able to tell us what's going on. Sigh.

The pricing issue of The Black Keys song "Tighten UP" on the Playstation Store has been brought to Sony's attention. They're looking into it and hopefully should have it corrected soon.
