Apparently some people are getting this problem.

When I had Vegas 2 for PC, I didn't have that problem, but then again, I had the DVD edition.

Did you buy yours through Steam or Direct2Drive or do you have a disc copy?

Hi,

Its the PC DVD edition.

Ive bought the game in a gamestore.

My Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 folder = around 6.44 GB. Is urs the same size ?

I don't have Vegas 2 installed anymore, but 6.44 GB sounds about right.

Also, I don't know whether or not it's normal to not have Desktop or Start Menu Icons.

I have a Start Menu icon (Start >> All Programs >> Ubisoft >> Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2) but no desktop icon because I chose not to have that in installation.

Just create your own shortcut on the desktop (go to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2\Binaries) and make a shortcut of R6Vegas2_Game.exe to the desktop.

Are you running Vista? you usually have to create your own desktop shortcuts with Vista.

I bought the DVD PC version last month and I finally got a chance to install it. I'm having the same exact problem of the original poster! No desktop icon and no Start menu folder at all! This is a first for me, for sure! Weird...

Can someone please give me a complete list of the default items in the Start menu folder, with the names, please.

I don't remember if mine offered to install shortcuts or not, but I always choose not to.
I hate shortcuts all over my desktop!

Just go to your binaries folder and run it from there.
If you want a shortcut, you can create one!

You can also pin it to your start menu if you like!

This is usually what happens when you ask for help and are very vague on what your problem is.

Etiquette requires you to explain your problem and post your computer specs (fully) so people willing and wanting to help, don't have to polish their crystal ball to do so.

Another thing... never assume that you are the only one with the problem, more so when it comes to UBI games, do yourself and us a favor and SEARCH your problem in the database forum. If and when you are sure you can't find anything, then come and post up.

Let me guess: Vista OS? If so, go to the games panel in the start menu, and it shall be there!

Just go to the actual folder of the game in program files and run it from there or create a shortcut from there.

Why not just open the folder and drag your icon to your desktop? doesnt take a genius... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
