Unable to install heroes_might_magic_5_1.06_us patch

When installing the patch, get message indicating heroes of might and magic is not installed.

I have installed it twice, but still it does not find it.

Is this because of Windows 7 or that I installed it to other than the default directory (which I prefer not to use)?

I'm also having the same issue. I purchased the package with HOMM V, HOMM V: Hammers of Fate, and HOMM V: Tribes of the East.

I also have this problem with Windows 7 x64. In addition, when i play the game already installed, the graphics corrupt after a few minutes. Has anyone discovered how to install these patches?

I read from somewhere that if you have Epic Collection you have to use Collector's EU patches. However, I do have the 2 DVD collector's edition, but still have not managed to patch to 1.6. Tribes was ablet to be patched since it was standalone. Base game came with 1.5 pre installed, but none of the patches, be that EU or US would recognize my game install.

And you're sure your 2 DVD version is only 1.05?

Here's a full list of the HoMM V patches, one of them must surely be the right one.

But you should have an auto patcher with that version, have you tried running that to see if it finds the correct patch for you?

I have the Epic Collection, purchased from amazon.com, United States. Nowhere on the box is there any indication that the game and its two expansions are European versions. They are, however, the European versions. At the top of the included Heroes V digital manual, I could read this: "Heroes V Manuel [sic] UK.qxd 12/04/06." I believe the "UK" refers to United Kingdom.

Before noticing that, I tried installing the U.S. patches and got error messages telling me that Heroes V was not installed. The v.1.06 and v.3.01 "eu" patches (European, but NOT European Collectors) did update my Heroes V installation to v1.6 and my Tribes of the East installation to v3.1. (Out of the box, Hammers of Fate was installed to its most recent version, 2.1, and did not require patching.)

Unfortunately while trying to play on my Windows 7 system, I got nothing but crashes.
