Hello, thanks for any help!

First, I have read the FAQ and the solution to my problem is not there.

Here are my specs:
Win 7
i7 CPU
8GB ram
ATI 5870 GPU
CM Grandmaster Edition - Digital Download

After performing my first move my system locks up and I have to do a hard restart.

My HD indicator light does not blink, and the mouse does not move, so it is not a temporary freeze but rather a lock up that requires a hard restart.

I have tried adjusting the priority of game.exe and this did not help.

Any help would be awesome, thanks in advance!

And what are your settings in the preferences of the engine? The system 64 bit or 32?

Maybe try to change the first slider in the configuration of the engine, the most right. This switch engine in 64-bit mode (if the system you have 64-bit).

You should also read the FAQ, there are several questions and answers that relate to the suspension of the operating system, or its slow action. There's also mention that Chessmaster has been tested on dual-core processors, not multi-core as it can cause problems.

How do I change preferences for the engine? Thank you very much for your help so far!

Edit: My system is 64 bit.

Engine settings can be accessed by selecting 'Engine' from the Preferences menu (if you don't see the menus, please refer to Section 3 of the Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition FAQ (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4221052685/m/3211095046).

You might also want to read pages 26 - 27 of the User's Manual as well, that covers various game/engine settings.
