Just wondering if anyone else in SHIV land has downloaded the new version on MS Windows 7 RC1?. I've downloaded it and plan on installing it on a spare HDD tonight so I can see what it looks like. I'm also very interested to find out if SHIV will work with it. Has anyone else tried Windows 7 and SHIV together, I'd be interested in knowing the results.

i have learned the hard way to avoid using release candidate versions of any software, especially operating systems.

every time i did it, more often then not it required a format and reinstall of your operating system because of some glitch, compatability issue, or just bad code somewhere.

i now firmly believe unless you are being rewarded somehow (as in getting a free licensed copy of the new OS), why take chances on having to go through such measures to have your computer work properly again?

I understand exactly what you are saying, Webster. But in this case I've installed Window 7 on a separate HDD totally separate from my other system which is vista and if something goes wrong I can always switch back to vista and not loose a beat. I've got Win 7 up and running now, and will keep all posted.

I signed up for the Beta test for 7 and never got over the first hurdle. The new OS required a rather rediculously large DVD ROM disc just to load the thing. Something I have been unable to find in my area. The boys in Redmond are still suffering from severe Cranial-Rectal Syndrome. If they spent half as much time and effort on perfecting their current software as they have in developing what is likely another POS OS.....

Same here, I've not noticed any problems yet, Win 7 ran nice and and smooth.

My systems specs are;

Foxconn Bloodrage GTI
Intel i7 940 2.93 GHZ
G.Skill DDR3 1333 6 gigs (tro-channel)
HIS HD-4870 X2 (2048 Gigs video memory)
Creative X-Fi sound card
Silverstone Decathlon 1000w PSU

Just a quick note about about SHIV. Installed with no problems last night and I played one quick mission and it ran with out any problems

Sofar, I'm liking what I've seen of Window 7. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

It is. Not to worry because there is a simple cure. Anyone suffering from this disorder need only bend over, grasp both shoulders firmly and pull until a loud pop is heard. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

SHIV runs real nice under Window 7. I played for about 5 hours last night and made my wife real happy. She got the TV all to her self. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
