This is my list of dos and don'ts when playing online I accidentally posted a similar post in the PC portion of this forum but anyway. Veterans, feel free to add if your think of other things I left out.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Do's
1) Wear little armor as possible; as this only weighs you down.
2) If getting shot at learn to crouch and weave, you can actually dodge bullets I promise.
3) If one on one against an opponent strafe side to side until their clip is empty, this makes you much harder to hit, once they are reloading stop sight them up and take them out, repeat this if he hides for cover while loading. If this continues then rush em when they reload.
4) This will probably get some responses but, There is nothing wrong with finding a nice spot and camping "IF" your style is not a run and gunner. Try sticking with a teammate and use the cover system till you're used to going on your own.
5) If you must "Teabag" only use this taunt on guys that deserve it, such as trash talkers and such.
6) See about joining a clan, your experience will be much better playing with a bunch of guys your used to.

Don'ts
1) Do not crouch 100% of the time when exploring the maps like a scared puppy, your only asking to get pwned. This is a classic noob tactic used a lot.
2) Do not hold your trigger finger down when firing, use short small bursts, your gun is much more effective this way and your recoil is dramatically decreased. Only use the hold down trigger tactic when in close quarters.

first of all, thanks for posting this.

but i think it is interesting that these "tips" are basically the same type of advice that you would give to someone playing counterstrike or other arcade action FPS.

its not a coincidence that giving good "bullet dodging" advice would apply to both vegas and other twitch-action shooters.

Dear New guys,
Please do not wear full anaconda armor with a flight helmet and a ballistic mask with rainbow skiddle colored cameo. So many newbs do it and you all look like tools and make me feel like im fighting off a martin invansion on villa.haha. with love though seriously dont. And no more ghetto characters please, the do rags and assualt shirts with the ballistic masks, no thanks.

I do agree with you for the most part, but a couple of things I'd like to point out.

First of all, point 1, yes, alot of armor does weigh you down, but only marginally, and I can't begin to recall how many times my hide's been saved by my armor. Either way, you have an advantage, so leave it to choice.

Point 3, yes this can help, but sometimes attempting to dodge without returning fire is a big risk. Quick footwork is no substitute for good aim. What I've noticed is alot of players are somewhat afraid to take the time to aim for the head, however it only takes a mere second, and you'll probably live if you simply take a shot or two to the body.

Point 6, if you can't find a clan, a close group of friends will always do. You dont need to be in a hardcore clan to have fun in Vegas 2.

Other than that, I couldn't agree more, and good work with this.

Also, Rampage, while people wearing a wide variety of armor doesn't particularly annoy me, the skittle color thing does. However, people who do this can't exactly be considered 'newbs' because to create a custom camo you must be an Elite as a prerequisite, and if you are an Elite or above my guess is you aren't exactly a newb at the game. But I agree, the skittle colors really annoy me, but luckily it makes people alot easier to spot and take down. So in the end, joke's on them.

Did i miss some of your points? It goes from 1 to 3 to 6.

That is because I only made the points which I intended to build upon, not all of them.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gifAngelo your missing the point and the joke just drop it. Just because their ranks an elite doesn't mean that disqualifies them from being a noob(especially in a game full of rank boost glitches). Put full anaconda armor on, a flight helment and the ballistic mask and do all rainbow cameo and you will understand. I see that constantly. I will keep a tally next time I play.

When I say noob I mean noob skill-wise, which is most likely not the case considering the amount of time needed to reach the rank of Elite. But as I stated, I too get annoyed at people wearing rainbow camo, as it is somewhat immature and impractical to wear, but as for armor TYPES (such as anaconda, flight helmet ect.) I believe that it is simply a matter of choice, as either way you have an advantage AND a disadvantage. Those with less armor get to run faster, and those with more armor are able to take more bullets. At the end of the day that shouldn't be taken into account if stating somebody is a 'noob', equipment and armor are there to be used. Although I do stand my ground about the rainbow camo thing...*shudder*

Yeah, I wear a little bit of armor, but no matter how fast you run or how much armor you wear a shot in the head will always kill you...

And I say just play the game and figure out your style, if you need advice/tips on how to play just put the controller down...

I wear ton of amor and I'm no noob. I'm personally tired of people telling others not to wear it. If you feel it slows them down then so be it. I don't whine about your character running fast do I? Most people I come across not wearing armor get smashed

if your learning a map and spawn points then it wll give you a little help if the other player is a bad shooter. If you get shot in the head it doesn't matter how much armor you have... your dead!

Once you learn the map and you can actually shoot the head of your opponent then drop the armor. Your way more mobile.

The biggest key to the game is spawn supression. The faster you can get to the cut off point and stop the other team the better.

The better players never wear armor!

The best TIP in the game is to never use a scope. I can't stress this enough. Iron sites and hip firing is your best friend. Make sure you are tapping the trigger when firing.

I wear armor and I don't allow you to shoot me in the head. While your busy wishing I'd die I've already killed. Yes I never use sights, just a AK with the extended clip

"The better players never wear armor!"

And to what point? so that you can run a little faster, does that really prove that you're so incredibly 'pro'? Face it, at some point your 'plan' (although it sounds more like spawn killing) is going to fall flat on it's face, and running won't save you.

Really, if you want to wear less armor, that's fine by me, but don't go around saying you're better than everyone else for it - because you're not. Wearing less armor doesn't automatically make you good, and wearing more armor doesn't automatically make you bad.

If I may I Think you misinterpreted whocares post, he isnt saying that you have to go completely armorless to be a great player just that the great players dont need armor based on the fact that the truly better players have "exceptional aim" and since there is no true armor for your head there is no point in wearing it at all since it simply slows you down and makes your head easier to hit vs an armorless player during firefight/juking.

Some describe it as "having a good shot".

For every rule there is an exception... I have seen players that break all of the "what you have to do to be a good player" rules, and they put up the numbers. Just play a lot and learn what works for you. Don't be afraid to do what doesn't work for others, you might find your secret to running some sick ratios.

These are good general tips, would be nice to get a list of individuals "best tip", but then who wants to give their strategies away right?

I can attest to #2; crouching and weaving will get you dodging bullets and in more than one case and aggravated opponent screaming "DIE ALREADY" into their mic http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
