No Skis...

I really wish they would have included skis in this game. I love snowboarding games, but I'm a skier. Oh well, I'm still getting this game!

There is no way skis would ever be in a game with a pro snowboarder as the title. They would have been better off in a game like stoked. "stoked" is a pretty universal name where as "shaun white snowboarding" wouldn't exactly cut it.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. Because In SSX on Tour, the player can shred the mountain with ski's too.

Ok first of all i dont see a pro snowboarder's name anywhere in the title SSX. Second, if you really think its a good idea to have skiing in a game called snowboard supercross then your an idiot. Lastly, there is no way you can tell me that you think SWSB is a better name for a ski and snowboard game rather than stoked. Just my opinion...

in GUITAR Hero now you got microphones and drums.

And in Tony Hawk's american wasteland you can bmx too, and it's not just a little minigame Wink

And in SSx (Snowboarding Supercross), a snowboarding game, you can ski.

so there are more of these non-fitting things...

I appreciate everybody's comments. I'm just saying that I'm tried of the fact that the only skiing games are race games for the PC. I know racing is huge in Europe, but in America, we're all about freestyle skiing.

I know SSX On Tour had skis, but this game is such a piece of crap I never play it. The ski and snowboard mechanics are exactly the same. SSX3 is still one of my all-time favorite games.

Basically I'm saying if a game want to be truly authentic, it will need to have skis and snowboards (and even skiboards). And they will need their own physics. The current generation of consoles can handle this.

I know there won't be skis initially in SW, but who knows... If they can add motorcycles to Burnout, maybe they can add skis to a snowboarding game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

considering the difference in culture and overall popularity of freestyle skiing you have to admit that it is relatively new on the scene compared to snowboarding. also theres the constant tension between skiers and snowboarders. maybe theres a game in the making. who knows. if you really want one that bad, get you and your friends to email one of the top sports game publishing companies. i think that with two sports as unique as these they both deserve their own game no?

I've skied for a while now, and i never felt any tension. I think it's something that was there a long time ago, but has definitely faded.

I'm just saying it would be cool for a game to capture the whole ski resort experience. That would have to include skiing and snowboarding.

Well a game that includes both freeskiing and snowboarding in the one game would be sick! It would capture the snow experience.
Don't know if you guys have notice, but when u go snowboarding/skiing, u usually see the other sport around funnily enough haha.
I understand that It would never happen in Shaun White Snowboarding. God its a pro snowboarders game, as if its even remotely going to happen. But it would be cool for a future game.

Plus for all u skiiers, try Freakout Extreme Freeriding on PC. its the best/only freeskiing game i've ever seen, and its ok, little buggy, but still fun.

Oh, and why the hell can't we where face scarves. God, Shaun where's them all the bloody time in real life. and i saw him whering one when u snowboard with him after he teaches u a focus skill. Why can't We??????
