Arrrgghh Stuck at begining

Ok I've gotten everything done except for the Machine with the blue button with the different tiles on it...My game is only showing two tiles. I can not see the other two tiles on the machine and can not get the message I am suppose to get. Help where are the tiles I've clicked everywhere???

That sounds like a bug. Although not one that I have seen before. Have you checked for updates yet? After starting up goto the last tab. If you are using Uru Prime, then there will be an update button. Click it to download the current updates. If you are using Uru Live, then after you log in on the last tab there will be a check box to update all ages on launch. Make sure that is checked off before you play.

OK did the update and still have "bug" ?
Can't view books or pages picked up either...
I monkey'd around and did make it into the tree and Relto BUT...as I said I can't view books or pages picked up Any ohter suggestions? * screens for the above mentioned come up black.

No my Graphics Card is a S3 Pro Savage DDR...

Okay, first thing is that your S3 graphics card is seriously unsupported, and that's probably why you're seeing books and other objects (probably those that are dynamically rerendered) as black -- if you go into the closet in Relto, is your avatar solid black as well? Is this also or alternately the case if you toggle to 3rd person view (F1 key)?

If so, you might try changing your bit depth to "windowed" which will run Uru in a window, and use the screen settings Windows is already using; that's apparently helped some people with some video problems. The base issue is that your graphics card isn't responding (correctly) to commands that would control inserting a dynamically generated image into rendered background; the key symptom is avatar, books, and some other objects showing as solid black outlines instead of having an image.

The only reliable solution, though, is to install a graphics card on the supported list -- essentially a Radeon 7000 or 9000 series, or an nVidia of the correct model, with at least 32 MB video RAM (if you buy a new one, you'll probably get 128 MB video RAM, which doesn't hurt anything, but my system runs fine with a Radeon 7000, 32 MB video RAM). You should be able to find a suitable AGP slot card for well under $100, and you might find it works better than the S3 card you have for other things as well.

SilentObserver is correct, the S3 video chipset series isnâ't supported by Uru. (See the bottom of the Uru box for what is supported.) Often, the S3 chipset isnâ't on a separate card but is integrated on the motherboard. If thatâ's your situation, then buying a supported video card will help only if you have an AGP slot on the motherboard, and if thereâ's a BIOS enable/disable menu item for the S3 video. Otherwise, youâ're stuck with the S3.

You mentioned putting all of the graphics sliders to the right. Thatâ's the wrong direction!

It may not do any good, but try turning down the graphics settings on the Uru Setup menu Graphics tab as follows:

-- Screen Resolution, set to 800x600
-- Color Depth, set to Windowed
-- Overall Quality and Texture Quality levels, set to Low
-- Full Scene Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering, disabled (boxes unchecked)

Also, if you donâ't have a Creative Sound Blaster series audio card, try unchecking the Allow EAX effects box on the Setup menu Audio tab. EAX is a Creative thing, and other audio chipsets may not completely support it.
