O/T Been called to the Dark Side

My wife bought me Battlefield 3 today a FPS.

Have played most of them since BF1942 - BF2 BF2142 FH1 and FH2 (mods).

However been working on it all day and still not working. Has a browser UI which wants me to buy the game again as it does not recognise that it has been installed. Has an EA thing called ORIGIN which is like STEAM.

I always wait awhile for a game to stew awhile before buying. That way these problems get ironed out first. Try EA's forumss for the game. Alot of times you will find several people with the same problems... And solution

I've been seeing and hearing a lot about it on another forum I frequent but I'm afraid I'm going to have to sit this one out. From what I can tell about this Origin browser thingy it's very similar to Steam, and Steam is why I still have my virtually untouched copy of MW2 sitting on my desk collecting dust. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Yes Wolferz - just as bad as Ubi - beta version - another day and still not working. Many have had the same problems.

Im pretty sure ill buy BF3 at some point. I enjoyed the other 2. I even still play a mod for BF2 called Forgotten Hope 2. That brings it back to WW2.

Yeah I love FH2 - been playing it again recently just SP - there are a lot more maps these days. At 61 I need to practice on FPS a lot.

Had my first online game last night of BF3 with some members of my clan - on our server - it's not bad - no commanders like BF2 and FH2 which was a position I played a lot in comps as I was not fast on the ground but could lay down a good strategic Arty barrage. We have a FH2 server here as well on our own hardware which is located in racks with a coy who hosts stuff. We have a lot of ARMA players as well and there is a server for that too.

This is our current site which is just about to be replaced with version 4 - the existing one is a heavily customised PHP forum which is having problems after all these years. http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef3/ It is a multi game gaming community which has been around for 10 years or so. The sims section plays the aircraft sims.

As for BF3 I found it quite enjoyable but some have had trouble with the browser based UI and getting it work like I did, Had to turn off the Anti virus - start it and then I could turn back on the anti virus and everything is fine. Game play is fast but interesting - like BF2 you have to earn unlocks.

The SP game is a campaign mode not like BF2 or FH2 where you get the normal maps and play bots - its mode is playing through various campaigns. Graphics are good - uses directx11 and requires a bit of grunt from your computer akin to SH5's needs.

BTW Haven't stopped playing SH4 but the FPS are good for your reflexes.
