Plane delays might save your life!!!!

So yesterday I'm getting ready to head back to SoCal from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I get on the plane and get settled in for the 6hr flight. The captain comes on and says we are leaving an hour late because of a packed runway. Everyone is a little irritated but cool.

An hour later we finally get on the runway and as the nose is lifting off the ground, you hear this loud BANG! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Suddenly the nose starts going back down and the whole plan is shaking badly slowing down.

Everyone on the plane is like WTF? The captain comes on very shaken up and a little confused and says that we had an engine failure. Some people on the left side of the plane said they saw the left engine parially blow out.

Had we left on time, that engine would have gone out in the air! Thank God for that one hour delay......cause who knows what would have happened http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Nah, it probably would have failed an hour earlier on the earlier take-off.

What would have been bad is if that had happened 100 feet up and beyond the runway. Eeep.

Either way though, that's scary!!
