After trying steam out for a while and liking it, I decided to buy SH4. It was my impression that games on steam are patched to the latest versions, but that is not the case as the SH4 I got was 1.3. No problem, I'll just download the patch and run it.....then the patch reported that it could not find a valid install of SH4. Bummer. Then I copied the game over to its default directories (program files/ubisoft/silent hunter 4)....no dice, so I guess it looks for a registry key to determine installation. Care to share what key it is looking for? Also, since you sell your game on steam, it would be nice to at least put out the version that has been patched for over a year. Also, why does the Colorado class battleships have no texture? They appear as jet black. Very odd looking when you leave pearl harbor.....perhaps the installation files on steam are corrupted? Only the colorado class appears this way. It seems every other ship looks ok in the museum. I know I could just buy the expansion and get automagically updated to 1.5, but spending another $10 just to be able to patch a game seems kind of wrong.
