I am glad to announce the release of my new film, "Red Stars Over Berlin." Many thanks to the VWC for hosting the film for me:

http://www.blacksheepwebdesign.net/vwc/media/Red%20Stars%20Over%20Berlin.avi

The file size is 59.7 MB and is 8 min., 45 sec. in length and is encoded with the Xvid codec.

I have used Vegas 4.0 as the video editor, along with both fraps 1.9 and 2.0 (2.0 to capture the various sound files). FB sounds were saved as wav files in Vegas, exported to Audacity for sound editing (amplify, fade in/out), then went back to Vegas. All sounds are from FB.

More details to follow...for now, enjoy the movie....

Any comments or suggestions will be welcomed.

Oh my God!! Terrific movie! I loved the soundtrack!! What is it? I couldn't get the Windows Media Player bars to go away because my mouse kept vibrating because of the ol' sub-woofer. Had to turn the damn thing over!!

Really cool movie. Nice information provided about the real mission. I would have liked to see more things blow up, but the ones that did had really cool special effects. Loved the movie music you used. I liked this one better than infamy which was fantastic! ~S~

All of your kind words made this production worth the while--thanks.

I thought it would be best to post the details of the production of this movie in a short tutorial form for everyone to view. This tutorial goes over the video software I used, the capture techniques, and the list of soundtracks I used in the film.

I have the tutorial posted over at the Virtual War Cinema in the Movie Making Tutorials section. Here is the link for the thread at the VWC:

http://www.blacksheepwebdesign.net/VirtualWarCinema/viewtopic.php?t=142

For all you aspiring virtual filmmakers out there, sign up at the Virtual War Cinema, exchange your ideas and works, and most of all, have fun....We'll be glad to have you on board!!

GoldenEagle--it's no fun without the vid! I have a link for the Xvid codec. Try this--hope it works for ya!

Shadow excellent stuff mate. I see that the "Light and the Shadow" got at least one Vangelis fan! What program did you use for special effects I must have missed it in the credits?

A big S! for including community members to fly the bombers. This vision has top notch production value with a nice storyline as well. You have out done yourself mate this is excellent stuff. Way to go!

Lou69--I'm glad you got to view the film...

UCLANUPE--I used Vegas 4.0 for video editing. More details are at the following thread on the VWC (site may be down as of this writing):

http://www.blacksheepwebdesign.net/VirtualWarCinema/viewtopic.php?t=142

I got the idea for the Vangelis soundtrack while browsing thru the CD collection at the library over the summer. I figured if they worked wonders with Chariots of Fire and 1492, imagine what they could do for Red Stars?! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Thank you my little Pushkino's for all your comments!!

After I had so much trouble tryingto watch it, I must say it was well worth it.

What hit me the most were the excellent music and sounds, especially, the "polishing" and professional editing, the "camera" movements and the best scene of the clip: the Buffalo coming! That was really impressing.
I go back and forth to watch that scene alone.
The whole movie is up to that standard, and is among my very favourites.

Thanks for sharing.

Boosher great job on the belly landing. But I get the

"OSCAR"

For best supporting pilot /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif lol

Glad everyone is liking this movie. Shadow did a great job.

I'm doing some research now for the next one: "B-17's"

PS... If you watch real close, when the fighter starts its attack...look at the skin of the leading Pe8. See if you
can tell what it is....

Joe, when the bombers are flying into Berlin in the opening shot of the bombing scene (the pivoting camera shot)...it's a skin from yours truly.......the skin got kinda distorted with compression though.../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Mr. Shadow. I loved that you made a movie with Bombers. It was realy good. I kind of felt sorry at the end when the Pe-8 crashed coming into the camera. Thank you for using game sounds and special effects, I really miss them in most movies. The score was FANTASTIC! I know that filming at night is hard, but you did great with the spot lights and stuff. The bombing sequence was totally cool! I really had fun watching this with my Dad. ~S
