Hello & Happy New Year to you all , just showing a screen of the 109 ive nearly finished & also some feed back. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif all i had to work from was the photo in the screenshot , its of 8./JG5 Petsamo, Finland march 1943. ive found profiles of JG5 in petsamo, finland & adopted the camo of them for the skin im doing as the photo is not very clear. Thanks to jester for his excellent template.
As you can see in the photo the 109 did not have a good landing. Thanks...buglord

Very nice. If I hadn't seen who posted this, I would have thought it was Canon UK's work, and as I think he's among the top three skinners around, you can imagine how good I think this skin is http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Your subtle panel lines and muted light color effects on the rudder and spinner set this skin apart from merely 'good' skins

Beautiful Bugs! Pity your sanity tho after doing all those squiggles! Are you now tormented at night by visions of irregular white lines?! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

Nice one 'Bug' but it seems overly mid grey? Question: Do you have a color profile of this aircraft? I have 3 with I think slight variances in scheme, but all indicate the color of this aircraft as being Black or at least 2 Very Dark Shades of Grey overall?? What say you old chap? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif Cheers FBS...All the Best for 2006 mate, keep em coming!

Thanks chuck thats a high praise indeed http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Tom the trick to doing any scribbles or something similar is to do all the joining up parts first once you have them all done & out of the way it aint too bad. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

FBS i was`nt too sure about the rlm colours so canon kindly had a look at it for me & he said the camo was about right. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

F19Gladiator is helping me out on this profile as well.
Have a great 2006 all. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi mate, Indeed Cannon was correct, RLM 75 is a mid grey (Violet Grey) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif On checking the profile, I noticed that theres no variation in color, indicating a single color overall (Not typically Camoflaged eg: Splinter etc, as one would expect),Please see color profile,

may be worth checking out? what ya think?

Hey Bug,

Yes I think that would be a good Idea, I'd probably do the same If I wasnt 100% on colorings etc, I did a similar one a while back, 2 slightly different versions of same aircraft as sources conflicted a little http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Hi. I noticed "Jutocsa" has played with this a/c as well. I mention it because his skin illustrates a version of this very special two-tone camo under the winter pattern which I mentioned in the other forum (SimHQ), even if I "read" the only two photos I have found a little bit differently. It is difficult to describe it without pictures or profile. The wing pattern here also show similarity with other Bf109F from the same unit, like "Black 10" for example.
The fuselage underlaying two-colour pattern seem to vary between each individual a/c in the Staffel, probably being applied after the "Local Messerschmitt Decorator's" sense for colours and patterns.
In the end it is up to the artist of course, as we are left to interpret the skins based on "less than complete" information again.

Looking forward to enjoy the completed skin! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
(And perhaps other winter skins from JG5?????)

The unit emblem was carried on both sides below the cockpit (Source "Eismeerjager Band 2" by Eric Mombeek)and not only on one side, as on the profile and skin below:

Ive done various adjustments to all of your helpful info i have skinned both profiles (2 sets, each set has marked, unmarked, marked without swastika----6 skins in total) so its all ready to upload just waiting for F/l to do its maintance.
Aero this one was`nt to bad to do i can think of a lot worse ,trying this camo on a he111 would be very hard work http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Thanks all for your comments.
