I like how Republicans have gone from ridiculing Helen Thomas for being "irrelevant" when she asked tough questions of the Bush administration to holding her up as a journalistic hero when she asks tough questions of a non-GOP administration.

..... I'd suggest that it was more a case of absolute shock and awe that someone like Helen Thomas, a journalist with a record of 50 years of consistent political bias, actually managed to step beyond her bias and ask the question at all.
