Well well well, looks like some in the press still have a spine left. Too bad they won't followup on this with a front page expose.

I think he knew the answer, but didn't want to say for some reason.
I will speculate that the answer is that the 'town hall' is not for answering people's questions but instead a platform to advance the President's agenda.
Now, was that so hard?

I like how Republicans have gone from ridiculing Helen Thomas for being "irrelevant" when she asked tough questions of the Bush administration to holding her up as a journalistic hero when she asks tough questions of a non-GOP administration.

No different than when the Democrats do exactly the same thing when their people are in power. With those two groups it is always a case of the pot calling the kettle black. I'm sick of all of them.

Those weak and ignorant questions by Paxman made me laugh out loud. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
Is he some kind of funny man shock jock host like Colbert?
Sadly, shows like the Colbert and Daily Show is the only "news" that some people see.

..... I'd suggest that it was more a case of absolute shock and awe that someone like Helen Thomas, a journalist with a record of 50 years of consistent political bias, actually managed to step beyond her bias and ask the question at all.
That was my reaction.

You're "shocked and awed" that someone with a 50 year career as a journalist turns out to have been a journalist? Hmm. Also I don't know if you or most people now complaining about Obama realize that he is a politician.

I knew his campaign promises were just that and would be broken the minute he took the oath of office.
