View Full Version : What's the deal with Iceland?

So, I mentioned this in the "Current Problems" thread, but in case it's not actually a glitch, and I'm just stupid, I'm posting it here as well (in hopes that more people will see it, and hopefully help me out).

Who, or what, is seeing me in Iceland (360 version)? I've tried various routes, on all difficulties, and it's always the same - I'm always identified as an intruder one time. What's the deal? I'm not exactly awesome at the game, but I have beaten it on hard (with 100% stealth on most levels, including Kinshasa), so I'd like to think I could get through the first level clean on easy, at least. I've seen others mention the same problem on other sites, but no one's responded with an answer as to why.

Am I just missing something?

Are you sure that when they identify an intruder that they are talking about you? Your partner in the mission will be caught and an announcement of an intruder will be made, but they do not know that you are there as well.

Of course. The issue is that someone or something apparently sees me.

Do a search for this as I think I started a topic back in October or November on this subject.

I think it's a bug and it's random. As far as we could agree, the spotting happens in the area with the spotlight.

It is possible to do 100% but it's probably the toughest in the game which is laughable for such a short, easy level.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to look back through the threads; I've tried to search and I always get an error message - "Search is currently unavailable." Joy. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

ETA: Success! On easy, at least. Now for Normal and Hard...

Ok, I clicked on my profile and selected "recent posts" and found some of the discussions. Sometimes you have to use the force with this forum http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Try this (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2771048463/m/1341005694?r=5721051105#5721051105) or this (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2771048463/m/8501095794?r=2991093005#2991093005).

There is also another thread mentioned "what constitutes as detected" but I can't find it as I didn't post in it.

It's the area between the gate you open & the ladder that leads to the pipe you take while you hear John decide to rush through the front door. If either of those 2 guards just get suspicious, you get hit with and ID'd by intruder whether they actually see you or not.

Wow, that is dumb. I have yet to get it on 100% as well.

Yeah sometimes the rating is a little outlandish. In the JBA for example if you get too close to a door leading to a restricted area (but it hasn't said "Entering restricted area") and are seen by someone the game considers that being ID'd by an intruder. In fact when I was playing JBA 2 last night some ******* walked into Sam and 'pushed' him too close to a retinal locked door, then Sam's light turned red and the guy started saying "Move along buddy yada yada" and I missed the 100% because of it.

Well I finally got 100% on all difficulties... Hard was insane. I made it through the area without any suspicion after five or so tries, but once I was out, it took me about twenty to get far enough away in one move to not be seen (I saved at the top of the little ladder). If I didn't move far enough, even if I was totally stopped and hidden that one near enemy would "see" me. That was pretty dumb. And to think, I thought Kinshasa was hard. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

At least it's over now...
