I am going to have to uninstall this mod I guess. My last 2 patrols were aborted because the mannschaft never recovers their stamina, even when placed in rest areas.Eventually the boys just get so tired the boat won't go on any more.
Does anyone know how to get around this?

This is a feature of SH3 Commander. So, too, the RUb mod.

Open basic.cfg in SH3/data/cfg folder .
Search for these lines and overwrite with these here, so your mods won't get modified, except fatigue settings for the crew:

This is from the no fatigue mod, if you want the original fatigue values back, overwrite my lines with the the ones from an original basic.cfg .

This is rather disappointing information. I was planning on getting Commander and RuB 1.43 but now I think not. If the crew only fatigues and never recovers then the mod broke something that worked reasonably well.
I'm generally much more interested in the fixes to some of the noted problems (such as radar/snorkel and Type XX) that are promised in Com/RuB than anything else. Is there a source for ONLY those fixes? Given that there is considerable interest there, I'd be surprised if such a specialized mod didn't exist.

Ok, Beeryus has talked about this many times already. This is a FEATURE of this mod. It is NOT fatigue. It is "battle stress." And battle stress does not disappear by tucking little Wolfgang in his bed for 12 hours. However, even with battle stress, you crew wont stop functioning. They can keep going, even when fully stressed.
The first few patrols require you to manage your crew to the utmost affect, since they are green recruits and will get stressed out quickly. But with some smart management and proper use of officers when you need them, your ship CANNOT stop functioning. And after you have a few patrols under your belt, and your crew gets more experienced and you get more qualifications, you'll find yourself never needing to swap around crews except for when you need that crack crew on duty when the stuff starts hitting the fan.
I hate to say it, but if you're ship stops running using this new fatigue mod, then you need to look on how you can better manage your crew.

Hello paulhager....
Mind you, I'm not part of the RuB team, but I think since RuB 1.4x, each fix has been listed with its appropiate file, although some of the mods alter too many files to comfortably list all of them.
I personally like very much how fatigue is done with RuB....think back to Das Boot; remember when the young Leutenant (along for the ride as a press person) is given a tour of the living quarters and is told that "When one man gets up to go to duty, the other man comes back to sleep in the last man's stink...." http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif
I don't know about you, but I don't think I would regain much fatigue with a situation like that, let alone the cramped spaces, lack of fresh food, air, and the situation of being involved in battle and almost getting killed....based on the above, I feel that little if any fatigue was regained in the midst of a patrol, unless the crew had a chance to stop somewhere and catch some off time away from the boat (which I think happened sometimes in the "tropics" according to an account by one U-Boat skipper)....
I like very much the challenge of rotating crew back and forth, saving the crew for the best moments. Adds a Heck of a lot to the game...but I'm going for the guisto (poor pun intended)...some prefer it differently.
I think that you could probably find the files to alter and still have a nice performance with this mod.....I would recommend making your changes into your own mod and use the Jonessoft mod enabler to make it easy to add and subtract mods...works like a charm!
Happy Hunting

Thanks everyone for the input.I will uninstall this mod as I don't think it's realistic to put a man in rest quarters for several days and he just never recovers. It's like there is some kind of mass hysteria/mental breakdown factor that renders the men permanently useless if they are depth charged for a few hours.

Hi winslynn
I disagree....they are not useless, just not nearly as effective....I feel its a good representation.
