Do carriers spawn planes in campaign?

Working on late 1944-end of war traffic in the ME.

Going on what I have read in some books about the occasional large IJN convoys in late war that would have escort carriers protecting them...adding escort carriers to a couple important convoys.I want these huge convoys(one i am working on has 12 merchants, one escort carrier, one heavy cruiser, two light cruisers and four DD's and four DE's....running from Singapore to Akita port in the Sea of Japan) to have near constant air cover, which if a carrier is present one would have.

Question is, does the carrier spawn it's on planes? Or should I add a few planes to the convoy, you can do that apparently.

Your custom mission sounds very interesting. I'd like to try it when you have a finished draft. Now getting on to your question, and I'm not a 100% sure of this but I think that carriers don't spawn aircraft, so I'm thinking that you will have to add aircraft to the convoy. Hopefully someone like Ducimus will answer your post and be able to give you a more substantial answer. Well right now i'm just working on traffic for the campaign but think i will work up a single mission where you have to attack a convoy like the one i described and share it with everyone sometime.
