Map generator.
Good parts.
You can select size, number of players, underground yes/no and monster level.
You can also select a template.
Bad parts.
The castles are generated FIXED. I've created a 8 players xl map and 4 of them were inferno 2 dungeon 1 academy 1 necromancer.
Also no alliances! No computer only players etc...
Why they did this i can't even begin to imagine http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.
I hope a quick patch will solve it.
Also the interface when you create a map is just a little smaller then it should be.
Why did Nival had to add a scroll bar couldn't they have made that a little bigger.

The dwarven race.
Haven't played too much with it but from entering the game to creating a map and starting it I noticed this:
1. The music in the main menu is superb http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
2. The portrets of some heroes of the dwarven race are not that good it seems like they were rushed or something http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.
3. The costs of the castle, capitol and other growth/money buildings are modified. Capitol = 8000. City hall = 4000 Castle = 10w 10o 3500 ... etc.

The game in general:
1. I've started a map called duel.... it loaded under 3 secs http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
2. The hall of fame is still just for the scripted scenarios.
3. The dragon flying around in the menu looks really cool ....
4. Caravans. As soon as you flag a building you can send the troops to your castle via the hire creature button. I haven't caputred more then one building this far but I've seen it sends a wagon during the ai's turn to my castle. When you select the troops you want to buy it says how many there are, their growth and the days they take to get to the castle.

Anyway for some things I can say good job for others I can only pray ...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You got it already? Geez, that's the last time I order directly from Ubi themselves. If it weren't for the $10 off birthday coupon I got from them, I would have just bought it in the store. Oh well of course they couldn't stop themshelves from adding a little big bug : During battle the atb bar acts really wild. The troop is taken from a position on the atb bar and moven to another afer it moves. This isn't too annoying. What's annoying is that that the bug where it's a troops turn and another one moves is back :|.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

That's strange i thought 1.4 = 2.0 in terms of code and there are no such bugs in 1.4

In 1.4 this happened to me but only with battle diving imperial griffins. They would land, do something, dissappear, and then reappear wildly.

Can you use the map generator from the map editor at least? i.e: Create a random map, change the player type/alliances, then save? Without having to actualy look at the map to do so? Not great, but would at least be useable for me then ...

yah, map generator that is purely for multiplayer is completely useless to me too. Thanks again, sigh. I'm sure it'll be fixed but whatever. ******s.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I began the WAR OF THE WORLDS multiplayer map. When selecting the Dwarven town, I could not choose my hero. When the game began I had no hero. On WAR OF THE WORLDS Dwarves start with no hero.

I then purchased a Tavern as my first building, and my Hero choices were then a Wizard and a Knight. BALLS.

Oh one more aspect about the random map generator you can see the minimap of the surface when the map is created http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.
And the editor give a error when trying to open a random map http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. Dunno if it's my computer..<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I really begin to doubt my reservation for HoF tommorrow. How can it be so hard to create a game with one or two bugs. I mean, the whole essention of RMG is completely down the drain with this "bug". Where were their heads when they were making this. You almost start to think they're doing this on purpose..

about to open a random map in the editor I have no problem with that... I can open my recent created random maps, I don't see the ATB problems that you mention there...

Something that is really anoying is that the RMG don't give chance to select your town... but I guess this is because the template... I think someone will be able to create a template that creates random towns in the random map generator...

The presentation screen is beatiful better than the original one! that dragon flying is great...

Simultaneus turn will be a great adittion I just try it with a friend and this is how is works...
- both turns start at the same time
- you can set a time limit for each turn
- when you click next turn buttom you can't move your heroes or enter the town... until the player click his end turn button or the time is elapsed...
- when one of those things happen... then both heroes can move heroes and enter your town again...

I think this is well implemented but I don't know what happen when both players meet... so will be interesting to see...

the dwarves runes are nice... this are in the spell book but also in the top of the turn, bar... and can be activated in any creature turn... and give efects like increasing speed, or give him the ability to steal a benefic spell from the enemy for one turn only... and cost resources... as far as I understand this only can be few times in the battle... the dwarven town give you the chance to construct a normal mage guild for the common spells, and a especial guild for the runes<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

@Lord_Crusader it happens a lot to me in the first campaign map using the female hero and with grifins :|. Indeed I haven't played any other races then human and dwarf but I think there is a bug there somewhere.

I've indeed managed to open the maps (the ones i've tried were created under vista and wouldn't open under xp :O ). They are the same maps playable from both versions of windows but lets skip that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
What I've found out is that you can generate the map from the editor directly and here you can choose the race of a player (I've tried selecting random but it doesn't seem to work :|) and after creating the map you of course can modify aliances.
Of course they had to add a bug here too and that is not beeing able to select the strenght of the creatures.
From what I've played on a small map: The in-game generator has placed me and my computer enemy 1 and 1/2 days apart http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
Indeed there was a teleporter but a road to it made the game much quicker. I ignored my oponent and went on.
The map was something like this: 2+1(my castle) castles of dwarf and 2+1(the computers hometown) castles of inferno. One dweling of lvl 1 troops around the castles. One of those dwelings was unreachable :|.
A lot of the new troops were generated on the map (from the renegade and dwarf troops) and they were indeed the strenght I've placed them.
There were not to many adventure objects just some shrines with spells but I've seen no learning stones, deff/att buildings etc. I guess this depends of the map cause I've just randomed some in the editor and they seem to be there.

Oh btw one major thing they have to fix quickly.
When pressing the alt button the objects highligh in about 5 sec and remain lets say 1-2 secs after (it's gradualy). What was wrong with before ? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. It was really good...

The Heroes III RMG was like that too, sometimes you got good maps and sometimes you got crappy ones where you were only a day apart. Just make another one.
If you want to load a map in the editor, I would advise making the interface visible only;that is, to shrink the window to where you can only see the buttons at the top and not reveal any of the map. There is a button under the tools to allow castles to be random instead of fixed. Its not too hard to make just about any map playable and fun.

Going back to the music, does anyone know where I could get my hands of the music, it is SO good! Furthermore, does anyone know where I could learn anything about the templates for the RMG, I really enjoy maps replete with detail and interactive items all over the map, not the barren desert kind. thanks alot everyone
