Hi

Just to say I don't play on ubi servers very often, but saw one of the top twenty players on world ranks tonight playing (won't name or I get in trouble again), but he did NOTHING for the team except build stuff. Sounds good don't it, except for the fact that at each flag we found everything already built. He just went off and built stuff, forget defending the actual flag we were on. He just went off to the next flag and the flag after that till everything was built so he could grab points. I have to assume they do it so they can see their names at top of world rankings as it don't do anything other than that, and certainly doesn't help a team. IF this is the case, my god how lame are some people?

Must have been one of those crazy Euros. haha ! I was playing on SoF's server the other night and we had the same thing, all the flags had everything built because 2 of our players kept running off and building them.

Since they were euro players, I just figured they didn't know any better http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Well this crazy euro must have emigrated, as he was a yank. Still I shouldn't expect to much from americans right now after they reelected the man with the IQ of my pet rabbit. LOL (Oh i can just feel the heat of the incoming flames) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Well, we don't need to stinking smart President\Prme minister, we cna run things just fine. We just need a figure head that's soft and cuddly, which is why we elected a rabbit.

But don't change teh subject, it's your euro buddies (probably the French) that were out building the walls yet, giving up the flag all game. At least get German enigeers who will build better walls and won't run away at the first foriegn soldier they see

haha, now we're both in for it

Ah but you forgot the first rule of voting, which is that politicians are like nappies and need changing for the same reason.

True, I found it hard to believe it was a yank, as lets face there aren't normally happy without a country to invade or someone to shoot, or better yet something to drop bombs on and blow up, and none of that is up an engineers ally. LOL

OK..in my world a nappie is a form of sleep. It's not exactly sleep, because I would never sleep at work, but I will take nappies. I'm guessing since you euros haven't invented diapers yet, you guys are using napkins

In totally unrelated news, did you guys change servers ? Thought you said you're previous servers was in the netherlands, but I see on your website you have it listed as being London (how far away from England is that)You guys swicth or are you just try to lure us over there to get us in your spaceship ?

I agree with the Madman; this sounds exactly like something the French would do. I bet they built 'em real focking shoty, too.

And what the hell is a nappie? Is that like a maxie pad or something?

Huntsman33

Sure well its like the yanks to invent things, like new words to the language we so kindly let you have use of. It's a bit like the need to use the word football but make up a new game to use the word for, but in truth that game is a girls game with pads instead of the similar game of rugby that everyone else plays that doesn't need teh pads. LOL
Oh and don't forget that world series, that no-one else plays in but yanks, so odd how it became the world series. LOL

Yep, we did move servers about 3 weeks or so ago. We were with Gameservers.net but moved to gdhost.co.uk as we had problems with gameservers.net as did 22nd SAS who also moved to the same ones we have. Still I like the idea of using it as a lure to the big cannon we are using to fire individuals off into space in the short term till we get the country towing space ship prepared.

I refuse to get into this war of words. But I do have a question for Huntsman. Do you lock your server after hours? I tried to get on last night and it was password protected (one other time as well) One time I did get on but there was no one playing. I have a 100 ping in the internet server list which might be playable (If not, let me know and I will not bother you with my lag).

Ok, I can't resist. Bush doesn't need to be smart, that's what VP Cheney is for.
World Series is Canada and the US with players also from Australia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, South America and the Caribbean and why are there no Cricket players lining up to cash in on all that American loot to play baseball, I wonder?
Agreed, France is the pits.
I always play as engineer. The last game I played I was top point getter but I had 16 kills and two flags along with the building and blowing up of stuff and handing out foriegn aid in the form of health packs.

Yes, as with all clan servers we lock it sometimes, but only for clan matches or practices before the actual match. We've had a few recently so it has been lockef a few times, though normally it will only be for about 90 minutes or so.

As for ping, we have our auto kick set at 110 currently. It was 150 on 1.1 but with the lower reporting of pings we dropped it down to 110. I've had people from the US playing with 70 pings so didn't see reason to raise it any higher than that and risk lagging server for those that have nice low ones.

Hey, until Uncle Sam started kickin' a$$ and taking names, no one considered English the universal language, even when the Sun never Set on the British Empire http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well, The secret to the ranks is not building, but being a grunt like I do.

On a full map with 16 players you should get 70-100 kills(350-500 points) per round

Capturing the flag 3 times is worth 90 points alone, To build that score would take a while.

So on an average map I would get 400+ points. You do that 3+ times a day your're away. Ive been going for 60 days and reached number 1 on the ranks mainly by shooting people.

If you stay near the flag you will get the most kills. Sniping you wont get as many unless your really good. Stray from the flag you will die to much and have to walk all the way back.

On attack work with your team(we use teamspeak) and go hard.

To be honest most of the people in the top ten play everyday for 3-4 hours. Ranks arent really a true indication of skill. Anyone in the top 100 is a good player. More you play the higher score you will get and higher up the ranks.

We have been debating the ranks and our clan(NZ Farcry) is going to set up a ladder for our part of the world(down under)

We are just comming out of winter so my score will drop now the suns out. So number 1 spots available now, go get it boys and girls

The Kaps boys have done a great job on the ranks. Dont get too serious about it. Your better just playing the game against your mates.

Remember its only a game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No, you got it wrong. If all we had done was kick a$$, we probably would all be speaking French or some **** right now. Luckly, we took names, too. That put English over the top.

Really though, if America, for better or worse, did not represent 40% of the global economy, then English would not be nearly as prevasive as it is. The French had quite a colonization program going to, and while French is spoken in all corners of the world, it is no where near as common as english. That is not to say one can go anywhere and expect to strike up an engish conversation, but I think you get the point. Now go see a dentist, why don't you? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

And oh, BTW, I am my own BaaL; I don't know nothin' 'bout no Nerco Baal. All I know is killin'.

Well, to agree somewhat with Baal, I think the key is America is the Porn capital of the world, so learning english is the absolute standard to enjoying good pron.

Also, all the best movies in the world are made by our euro loving, W hating, actors and studios. Hopefully, they will now STFU and go back to making a movies and prawn.

Keriboi Obviously, you euros don't know anything about toppling nations. You're getting so many kills because it's taking you guys way to long to cap the flags. If you have more than 50-60 kills you're not focusing on the flags, but playing a game of TDM. Come on, are you guys afraid to storm the building and take the flag ?

On a side note, Can't wait to see when this thread turns all sour and because a actual flame, I'm sure someone will get all bent out of shape on us making fun of the French

I am afraid i am going to have to agree with our American cousins on this one . The dominance of the english language is not down to our fallen empire but actually dependant on the trading power of the USA.

When the British empire was at it peak ,say 1900, french was the most widely spoken language around europe and the world . Even our aristocracy chose to speak it .

In our modern world japan, china, all the scandinavian countries, russia and even the Australians try to speak english as a trading language . This widespread use of engish is down to wanting to trade with the Americans who refuse to speak any other language .

If the pron industry was choosing the language, then we would all be going "JA JA JA DUBISTGUT JAJAJ MEIN KAMPJJJAAAAAAAAA"

If it is any consolation, at the current rate of South americans pouring into the US, it is projected that by 2010, Spanish will be the majorities language. So, forget learning english and go for spanglish

Back to the topic of this thread-

Remember Hunts that even considerate players tend to wander away from the defense of their flag. I remember last weekend someone was accusing you of camping their spawn when you were on defense. Your reply was that you were at least 50 meters away from their spawn. It is still tough to save or defend your own flag when you are 50 meters away from the opposing team spawn. (Hazard and the bungee cord also comes to mind.)

That is why when I see these huge kill numbers in assault I have to think that the person should be playing FFA as they are not much of a team player for assault. Make the kills near the flag, not coming out of spawn. That way you can keep the opposing player harmlessly making the long walk to the flag each time.

(Funny, you don't sound British?) (lol)

i hate when *******es give engineers a bad name

my first goal in assault: keep structures and flags in pristine condition

second goal: kill b-iatches

i will on average kill from 35-55 folks as engi and accumulate about 2-400 support points. it just depends; if i am alone and playing with non-clan mates, i will let others build and i will slaughter, and if i am scrimmaging, i will build.

If you look at my scores you will notice that on one of those rounds we had 3 players in the 10 ten in the work and the rest mostly in the top 50.

We are accually in New Zealand/Austrailia.
Because of the tough competion and top level teams most games work out in a draw. Not because we dont try its because we play down here to defend the flag. I invite you to come play on one of our games or even specate. Try the Game Arena severs or Xtra http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Actually, its the english that like to take the American inventions and rename them. Example: the elevator, which the brits renamed lift. The car, they changed the side the steering wheel goes on and which side of the road you drive on.

Actually it was Napoleon who decided to impose right-hand (then) horse-riding instead of left, just to spite the English. Back then people travelled on horseback, and as most people were right-handed, they wanted to keep their swordarm on the side of oncoming riders so they could defend themselves properly, so they rode on the left. The French introduced travelling on the right, along with the metric system to impose their authority over Europe.

And I think the British Empire would have had a small part to play in English being the dominant world language - ever wondered why it is the Yanks speak English and not French?
