I have an acoustic guitar with a amp out. You think I would be able to use it with Rocksmith is is it really only geared to an electric guitar?
Thank in advance for any input

Dude or Dude-dette... Seriously this game will work your guitar... I have successfully tried/used the following guitars: Epiphone "Les Paul" Special-II, Ministar CLASSTAR (Classical Guitar), and the YouRock Guitar (MIDI Guitar)... This game is SWEET!!! I am sure it will work with your Acoustic!!!!

Its works fine with an acoustic with a pickup. I tried it this morning.
One gets more sound from the humbuckers (pickups)on my Gretsch or the single coils on my strat replica, but all my guitars work on it.
Some acoustics with a pickup have a pre-amp built in (usually takes a battery) which could help.

I haven't tried my Seagull acoustic but I am sure it would perform admirably.
If your acoustic guitar has a pickup in it then you are fine.
Ubisoft has a lot riding on this game.
The FAQ would not say it works if it did not.

To help ease your concerns, I just tried my Seagull and it worked perfectly.
I had to turn the volume down on the electronics (Godin Quantum 1, aka "Q1") but Rocksmith had less trouble with the guitar than I did - I did not grab a pick or strap... LOL
Of course, some things like bends, etc. may be easier on an electric than an acoustic but that has nothing to do with Rocksmith.
Enjoy.

Hey bro,
Don't worry about using a classic or electric guitar. The important part is: do you have a 1/4 jack on your guitar?
If yes, you are good to go.
I'm playing with my Ovation(don't know the model and i'm not at home heh) and it works just fine.
An electric guitar seems to be easier to use though for certain techniques but it still all doable on a classical guitar. Except perhaps the squeals heh.
Hope this helps.

I tried my other acoustic and it works fine as well. One has an active pickup (the ones with a battery and tuner built in (epiphone).
It (the one with the active preamped pickup)sounds incredible in the game.

I only play with an acoustic electric guitar. I need to turn the tv volume up a little bit to hear the background music better, but it works just fine. The guitar does have a built in preamp.
