Ragnarok Online is one of the worst games ever made, even for an MMORPG it's terrible...and MMORPG is the worst genre.

Most MMORPGS at least have pretty looking environments, RO is full of 2d "cities" and sprites. Additionally, there's no sense of community because everyone playing it is from Korea.

GuildWars doesnt require a monthly fee to play. Like 50 bucks and then play as much as you want. Source is now addicted to it, instead of CT.

Here's a couple I know of:

Knight Online
http://www.knightonlineworld.com/
Completely free to play and has no plan of ever going pay to play (dont confuse this with the other, non-US version of Knight Online that is pay to play). Probably some of the best graphics you will find in a completely free MMORPG and hell, maybe even the best gameplay. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Planeshift
http://www.planeshift.it/
An in development MMORPG. Plans to be completely free and has been progressing nicely as of late. It isn't even close to finished, but you can still play and enjoy the game in its current state.

Conquer Online
http://www.conqueronline.com/
Free to play, somewhat Diablo style MMORPG. I used to play it but not very much so I can't say much about it. They make money by selling "Dragonballs" (items that can power up your character). Not bad at all, especially for a free MMORPG.
