AI Skins in IL2 Dynamic Campaigns Issue

Hello, recently back to IL2 1946 after shelving FB-AEP-PF merge for about 3 years,and I cannot seem to get AI skins to work in IL-2 Dynamic Campaigns.

I have a campaign as RNZAF 488 squadron Singapore map

w/ Buffalo_MkI_W8139_488Sqn.bmp skin on my plane and wanted to just use Buffalo_MkI_W8150_488Sqn.bmp for my AI , but adding $Buffalo_MkI_W8150_488Sqn.bmp is not working correctly, w/o the $ I get the skins on all the F2A_B339 but with the nationality markings. With $ I end up with default unmarked skins.

and using

488Squadronfe F2A_B339
skin:$Buffalo_MkI_W8150_488Sqn.bmp

also does not seem to work correctly, I have deleted campaign, cleared cache and restarted campaign every time and always end up with unmarked default skins or the correct skin but with additional nationality markings, I cant seem to get correct skin and no ai nationality markings.
