How to set up snipers?

I need to know how to set up merc snipers in sandbox. I got one on top of a mountain with a sniper rifle, but I dunno how to make him cover the beach. Any help? Also, I checked from many points on the beach with a sniper rifle, and I can see him, so he can obviously see me if he's covering the beach. Thanks.

I think you have to raise his sight. I'm not sure which option it is but it's in there someone in his properties.
