having trouble passing ist miss. I can usually shoot down most of the f16s but I usually run out of missiles due to misses and then get taken out by any remaining planes. My cpu wingmates seem rather useless, especially the mig29's which die straight away.

What i really want to know is how to approach this mission. Should i try and avoid close combat or not? What radar modes/ missile combinations should I use? Should I go for altitude before attacking ? Should I use EO instead of radar for suprise ? What direction should I attack from ? Should I wait for migs to arrive before attacking ?

Atatck immidiately just to get'em to run. Your missiles will miss at first, but it gives you time to chase'em down and kill'em without them counter-attacking right away.

Just make sure you have labels on. Have anybody defeated this mission without labels?
I need help as well for campaign 4.....

send your wingman to engage, while he is busy, u try to take on other f 16. I am sure you will soon hear the missile locked sound so put on AB and run in opp dir of missile vommiting flares from the butt. Then try to get a lock on those damn f16's and take em out. I think some F4E's also intervene, chuck em too.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I finished the first part.CAN someone help me with the seconD. I get to the point above the cloud layer with the F-16's and other jets infront but suddenly the SAMS blast me to bits. I tried this part nearly 6 times without success.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I tried this mission like 50 times before I finally won it.

Try landing to refuel and rearm!

This mission is basically dependant on the performance of your wingman and other AI

You can only take out so many planes

THe key to sucess is to prevent damage from occuring to your airbase from the phantoms.

I take out the first to F16s by climbing high to get a lock right after take off. And you must order your wingman to engage these for you because you only have so many missiles and half of them miss. After you take these F-16s out. I ordered my wingman to engage the bandits and the mig 29s and my wingman took a few planes out, while I returned to the nearest base to refuel and rearm. THen I got back into the fight. I still lost my wingman.

I believe this is the toughest mission of them all. THe other tough one is the last one where your su-34s must take out a boat. Half of the time the missiles miss or the su-34s get taken out by f-16s in the area.

F-16s are really tough. And the F-4s are amazingly tough. Seems the f-4s always manage to spilt up perfectly so one gets on your 6 while you take out the first one, and you get wacked from behind if you get pull off some bad *** beaming manuevers to dodge the missiles.

Good luck. Keep trying. I had trouble getting the F-16s locked up under 6 nm. You have to climb high and launch a missile into them at more then 10miles to put them on the defensive to get in close and get the kill.

THe mig 23s are worthless they engage to late.

Not only worthless... but dangerous. I had successfully knocked all remaining AC except one F4. I was out of missiles and going gunzo on him... putting lead in his tail when one of those meddlesome 23's put a missile up my ***. Guess I was too close to the bandit and the missile got confused. If that wasn't bad enough.. after ejecting (and cussing out my monitor) I watched to see how the 23's would finally dispatch the Phantom. Guess what... they didn't! They just lazily cut circles in the sky while the F4 took out base defenses. I didn't play the game for several days after that experience rofl.

Your mission objective is primarily to destroy F-4's. Be ready to have your wingman take one or two of F-4. Fly as low as you can. Have labels turned on.

The way I did it is classify and declassify the mission and then change the load out to include R-27AEs and MEs. You should be able to do that without declassyifing with the patch. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
