View Full Version : UPlay Confusion With AC2 Content...

For pete sake I dislike these DLC gimicks... In AC2 on the 360 I've found a door access to the west of the training area at the villa but cannot access it. I've activated my UPlay account and would like to get Altair's armor and get through this door too. I believe I'm short of points but have only just finished Sequence 5.

If I'm short on points right now what do I need to know about when and how I'll get the armor and/or be able to access this door.

I take it that there is no way to buy UPlay points...that they can only be earned by playing, in this case, AC2.

_I_ wish Ubisoft had not done this. _I_ wish I had not stumbled upon this door in the game. _I_ hope I don't finish the game feeling bad about these events. Ubisoft and the PS3 already have black eyes for their pre-release 'black edition' and own exclusive game content repectively.

I read once but cannot find the reference now that the door access wasn't possible until finishing Sequence 05 and likewise with the armor. I think I may have purchased the armor too but don't have the points to purchase the door yet????

Thank you. Any help unraveling this confusion I'm caught up in would be greatly appreciated. I'd call Ubisoft but naturally this happens over the weekend when they are closed. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I'd like to end with a friendly suggestion to Ubisoft... That you make available as DLC one pays a fee for...the various exclusive content in the 'black edition' and the PS3 and also consider being able to buy UPlay points too??? Thank you.

that door is not a huge deal on any level, it is just some background on how the middle eastern "Nizra Hassassins" ended up as Italian nobles. Don't worry about not having enough points right now.

I don't want to know details of what it is... I just want to get inside. It ties in with the Guide's 'Assassin Tomb: Paying Respects' which I have happened across in the normal gameplay progression and would like to complete its content now, if I only could. Eventually is fine... I just need to know how this strange UPlay works. It is way to bad Ubisoft couldn't have just used M$'s DLC but nooo... they have to confuse things and set up their own. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Does anyone know what the red bar with a diamond in it that is located across the upper left corner of my Xbox 360 Dashboard is all about? Any explanation of why it is there and what it is trying to tell or inform me of? I think it may have something to do with UPlay? Thank you.

Okay...after some reading and re-reading and thinking I 'think' I have figured some of this out.

Logged in via the 360 console to UPlay account it looks like I have 20 points in the upper right corner by my user name but when I review my UPlay history it looks like I should have only 10 points left?? Why doesn't it display 10 instead of 20 next to my user name?

Apparently I played out 'Undertaker' without knowing it when I played out 'Novella's Secret' under Santa Marina Novella? I got 20 points for that. I bought the 'Throwing Knives' for 20 points which is nice.

I wasted 10 points on the Theme which is confused with the 360 DLC Theme I wasted M$ points on too. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Bad me...

I got 10 points for 'Welcome to UPlay' and 10 points for 'Welcome to the Animus 2.0' This should leave me with only 10 points left?

To get the Altair Outfit I need 30 points and to get the Exclusive Map (at the Villa) I need 40 points. Is there any UPlay guide that describes what actions I need to accomplish in the game in order to eaarn these additionsl 70 odd points (minus what I have?) so I can get the outfit and map?? Thank you.

you get Uplay points for simply completing a section of the game which you would normally complete if you were playing the game.

you get 30u for finishing a level that roughly takes you to 50/60% of progression through the game's story, and 40u for completing the story.

you can find details of the actions you have to do on the Uplay website here: http://uplay.uk.ubi.com/win/actions-rewards

the descriptions are a bit vague, but that is because they do not want it to be obvious what you have to do - but generally speaking they are rewarded for your progress through the main story.

you have to complete puzzles within the game to get Altair's Armour - not Uplay points. the Uplay points reward is simply Altair's costume skin.
