i think the game needs to be realistic like
if a mortar fires on a single unit most units
around it should be damaged a little

I saw in some videos that when you fire with artillery or nuke, many soldiers in a little range of the impact fall down, died. But i dont know if its like this for the others units like tanks. Per exemple; i saw in a vidéo a groupe of 4 tanks under attack. Each tanks was killed one after another in a row. And i know that sometimes you can see the words heavy damage or only Damage when you hit the ennemy. I think we will need to wait the game to se how the damage is generate in game.

That right there is two accounts of spam.

And your question, or statement is true. This is a Tom Clancy game so it has a very realistic sense to it. If you watch some videos of Endwar (Search on youtube; GC 2008+endwar and a video will come up)they show a artillery shell causing splash damage to units in the area of impact.

The thing is, it looks as if an artillery shell hits the center of a group of infantry spaced a few feet apart, they should get owned by the shrapnel and die. Instead it looks like the entire unit just takes damage and depending on how much they take so many guys die and the rest just get right back up and start running... (Im hoping they change this for the stress test)

It SHOULD be that if a splash damage unit(lets use artillery for this example)fires into the center of a squad of infantry, any infantry within a certain distance (Lets say 10ft) get killed (no ifs ands or buts) then between 11ft-20ft, they take damage and CAN die, depending on circumstances. Then any unit betweem 21ft-25ft they take very little damage. (Hope that makes sense, if not just tell me, also all ranges are completely made up http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif)

Then there is the fact that the start running again... i dont believe after getting thrown down by the blast of an artillery shell at that range, you will be getting back up and running in a matter of seconds, regardless of how trained you are.

I don't think it could work that way. Because I think the damage system that they're using is that the unit take damage as a whole. After a certain amount of shots hit a unit a random member of the unit will die. It's not measuring individual health of members of units.

At least this is how I think they're doing it.
